I was even able to get it to 4.5 on 1.285 volt. This is the first rig I built and I am very proud of it. But I am having issues that really bug me. I have 2 issue. Some troubleshooting I have done. I thought that maybe my overclock was unstable and loaded optimal default and tested for a week but the problem still existed. I then updated the bios to F5 for a week, no improvement. I try F6A and for a few days it stopped, but on Thursday it started again. I thought maybe I didn't connect something right or shorting something, so I took everything out, remove the cooler and repaste it with arctic silver thermal compound and still no improvement.
I been reading forums and in the z77 owners forum it appear other have this issue, but I do not see any G1 sniper have this issue. Maybe other do and I have miss it, but I thought it could be bios related and hoping it is not hardware.
I really need my system to be stable more than to overclock or gaming, I play a few game on it . I built this computer to use to test software for my business and later on to run some virtual license server. Losing important files can be very harmful for my company. So far, I am still testing so beside windows, symantec antivirus and drivers to get the system running, I have no other software install. If the board is unstable I still have a week or so left to return it.
When the system is on, it is rock solid. Sleep gives no issue that I notice but I rarely put it to sleep, I just shut it off. Shutting it off is just a personal choice and I believe that if I am not using it, no point in wasting energy, no matter how little energy it could be. So far, I did not have any issue booting into windows after it back up the bios. But I can't be certain that one day it doesn't corrupt or destroy my files once I get to using it heavily, so I do want to get to the bottom of this and would appreciate any insight anyone can offer.
So to recap:
No overclock, default setting: try F5 and F6A bios, took everything out and repaste thermal and temp never go beyond 50c on everyday use. Left computer on overnight, let it sleep and wake up fine. Shut off and then start, get corrupt bios message.
P.S. I clear cmos as well, many times.

It seem I can't even thought on corsair faq itself it say I can, but the question was asked in corsair forum and it was stated that adjusting the rate isn't allow and the FAQ section is wrong.

But at least you gave me an explanation, I really understand compatibility issue since I deal with it everyday as well. This wouldn't have been an issue if I didn't get the corrupt bios and couldn't use the keyboard when it does it, I had to plug in another. Also I did try the ps2 solution but the keyboard doesn't allow it. Also in their FAQ on why they don't allow ps2 adapter to work. But like I say, this I can live with as long as I at least know why. I emailed corsair about it and never got a response like that, only to update firmware and driver. Which I did the moment I got the keyboard of course.
When it shut off, I wait a bit before I push the power button again, I give it 3 minutes generally. Something it goes through it cycle and give the corrupt bios and do the back up, reboot and windows start just fine. Other times I have to press the power button, sometimes twice because it will power up and shut off again. I tend to be very gentle with this system as, even though I intend to use it for work and game, my wife discover Diablo 3 and love plaything it on the computer and will kill me if I damage her "baby" . I am on bios F4 which shipped with my board since I figure why bother updating to F5 or F6A when it just revert back to F4. I do use and only use q flash because I saw that is what you recommend when I read on your responds to other users on the gigabyte z77 thread; and watch your video on how to share profile on your youtube page.
I ran prime 95 and memtest86 after I set everything to default 2 weeks ago. All passed. I ran prime for about 8 hours, set it when I went to bed and check it before I went to work before shutting the computer down. It passed, temp was around 60c at default setting. I was worry as well that maybe it was memory, even though it could be my power and got new surge protector and tested it on a different power supply, same thing. So I took to the forum and after reading over 225 pages on the z77 page and hearing about people cold boot, I thought it was similar to what I was going through.

However as most of the questions there were about UD5 or UD3, I figure maybe I might be better off asking fellow G1 owners. This thread is much shorter, to me that mean the sniper 3 has less issues as well. Making my problem more unique I think.
I am out of ideas and figure it has to be a bios issue or I just got a bad board, if it is a bios and can be fix I am ok with it. If it is a bad board, I bought the board at the end of May, so I still have a few days to return for another if it is. I waited this long to write and ask because I wanted to at least give it a week with bios F4,F5 and F6A to test. I will try the bios you link. I also did fill out my rig info before I posted but didn't know I had to show signature. N00b mistake since I like to read more and hardly ever post anything in any forum I visit.

hi, i got the gigabyte g1 sniper 3, with a 3770k and 16gb vengeance ram at 1600. i installed by 4 evga gtx 670 4gb SC onto it but the cards arent detected in 4 way SLI. i tried putting the sli connector both ways but to no avail. tri-sli with the trisli bridge runs fine.
anybody knows how to get 4way sli to work on this board?
