Hey so many have asked about PCI-E 2.0 mode for this board, as the other Z77 GB boards have PCI-E 2.0 mode/3.0 mode selection in the BIOS. However on those boards the selection changes the CPU's PCI-E controller's mode, however the G1.Sniper 3 also has a PLX 8747 bridge which really dislikes having its PCI-E mode changed. TO change the PCI-E mode of the PLX would require the PCI-E slots to be retrained, so it would take a special BIOS to force the PLX into retaining in 2.0 mode, which isn't very easy thing to make happen. So there can't just be a simple switch in the BIOS to change it. That was the explanation from GB engineers.

So basically this is why if you install a PCI-E 2.0 CPU and a PCI-E 3.0 GPU you will get GPUz reading PCI-E 3.0, even though it isn't reading the fact that between the CPU and PLX it is 2.0 mode.

I'm having problems with my 2 GTX 690 + G1 sniper 3 + 3770k.
For Some reason i can't see bios screen unless i choose Internal GFX as primary card. And i'm getting A6 code very often. This board needs some serious balancing.

Did anyone try a CF of 7970s with this board ? I've enough with the cold boot issues (almost gone with F5, apparently its miracle since according to GB support it wasn't the MB fault), but just in case if the CF doesn't work that's enough to RMA this "lovely" piece of ....hardware ?.

Ive been looking at this Board since Sin0822 did the review and planned on a small upgrade of board only and to keep using my 2500K since the IB suck at trying to keep cool and high temps on Air
the main reason I want to upgrade is to allow for a raid controller and Msata while using 2 duel slots GPUs, I'm currently using a P67-UD5 and never had any issues

but one of my big concerns is the low Gflops I'm seeing in IBT both here and other forums I'm only seeing 105. / 103. / 108. / 102. on the Sniper I'm getting 116 / 119. on the UD5 am I missing something or is it that much slower?

how well will the board perform with only using 2500K as I seen some issues with the SB chips as mentioned in the above post.

Guys, I just got my G1 Sniper M3, got it all setup with 3 6950s (Flashed to 6970s) and I'm having a rather serious problem. I cannot access the BIOS from the 6950s whatsoever. I tried from the onboard video and it works fine, I also tried on someone else's display and it worked fine. I'm using a Dell U2711 monitor (tried all the outputs, HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort). I also tried HDMI on a separate HDTV and had the same issue. No BIOS.frown.gif

Even with just one videocard installed it's not working. The top most PCIe slott is slot 1, correct?

Just got this:
Quote:
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ntoskrnl.exe

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000a (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000,
0xfffff80002ce1766)

*** ntoskrnl.exe - Address 0xfffff80002cdd1c0 base at 0xfffff80002c5e000 DateStamp
0x4f76721c

Got this while gaming on BF3, never got this before.

Running at 4.2ghz, 2400mhz RAM (XMP profile 1)

Do I need to increase VTT volts? (set as Auto right now)

I ran Memtest86 and it locked up after 50 mins with no errors and 2 successful passes. It just stopped testing.

I set PLL to 1.785v, cpu to -.010, and RAM to Profile 1. 300 and 200 on the power CPU turbo settings.
