You sir are correct to the most of my knowledge.

ALWAYS USE A PAID VPN as they don't keep logs. Don't use free ones. Annonine is good

No amount of security is a 100% guarantee. Plain and simple. The best you can do is to add layers to slow them down. And a whole lot of them at that.
