i thought this mod was interesting, but spraying the tubes i thought was a bit excessive considering you can buy coloured tubing

so i just ordered it in the colour i want and will cut that and fit it around the tubes - no spraying :-)

the reason i dont wanna spray is becuase:
1) i live in a flat with no garden

2) the finish would be better with proper white tubes than clear tubing sprayed white

also, if there is printing on the side of the tube, that will be the side i cut and fit around the back tongue.gif

so ill give that a go and report back smile.gif

Guys. This mod cost like 60 cents to do. Plus 4 bucks for paint. I think the entire thing he was going for was CHEAP and easy biggrin.gif

I never said I created it but the whole point of this was that you could make it look better for less than a couple of bucks.

Yeah but the tubing you buy for closed loops is only about 20x more expensive. If you already had the color of paint you wanted, this would cost you less than a dollar!
Just take your time and do light coats and be careful, I promise ya it will look great

This is an great idea. I think I'll give it a try.

I am going to be modding my H80 to fit my GTX 570 (there is a guy here on OCN that does brackets for the Antec Khuler or whatever, similar idea), and this would be a perfect idea since it I could make the H80 match the loop I already have for my CPU. One of those simple, "Why didn't I think of that?" type of ideas that just works.

lol great idea. I was actually thinking of spraying the whole thing (radiator and block included). Are there any cons of doing that? lol

You would need to be very careful painting the actual radiator fins, wouldn't want to block airflow - masking them off and painting the radiator shroud etc should be fine.

Could also take a page from the RC guys and paint the inside of the tubing and not the outside so you get a slightly different finish that is ultimately more resilient.
nice work man, love the creativity.

though i must ask, why not just buy it in the color you wanted in the first place?

http://www.jab-tech.com/PrimoFlex-Pro-LRT-White-Tubing-3-8in.-ID-X-1-2in.-OD-pr-4504.html

Cost more per foot yes, but you spent $4 on a can of spray paint, so any saving from using cheap tubing was lost, since you didn't use more than 3ft of tube.
