This is what you want. OC's like mad, mine are @ 2260 mhz but they will do 2400 mhz.

I'd need 3 of those. Do they make it in 2gb varieties so I can run triple channel? I don't really need 12 gigs tongue.gif

Color me unimpressed so far though. It's up and running, but temps are almost identical to where they were with the Ven-X.
Probably gonna return it tomorrow and just stick with the Ven-X.

which temps? load or idle..on top of that, what is your ambient, voltage, etc...is it the 930 at 4.0 in your specs? turbomach1 is right, the H100 was never meant to perform like a full w/c kit, it's meant to perform comparable to a decent air cooler. Which profile do you have it set on? Do you have it set up as intake? If not, that is a big part of your problem, you can't run the air that has been warmed inside the case through the rad and expect it to be all that cooler... the h100 is also really sensitive to mounting...sometimes it can take a couple of attempts to get it mounted nice and even...have a looksee in the corsair forums on their website, lots of good info in there....

My ambient is really cool, considering I have a window a/c unit blowing directly at the case (about 8 feet away). Florida ambients are high even with the central air on, so I usually have a window unit on when I'm home. My room gets hit by the sun all day...

I'm running 4.0 with HT @1.28v. Idle temps are around 35-44 between the 4 cores. Load temps went up to around 67. It is set up as intake right now, as I previously stated. I want to try to get this thing into push/pull before I give up on it, though. My Ven-X was p/p, so I want a fair comparison. Might have to do some surgery on the top of the case to open up more airflow, too.

How can you even begin to measure the efficiency of the cooling if you don't know the ambient...that is the first step to measuring how well you are cooling...67 with that overclock is actually pretty decent. If you are getting a 9 degree variance between your cores, you probably have a bad mount or the TIM isn't on properly....

Because I have nothing to measure it with. I'm not terribly concerned with temps, but I just had higher expectations than what i got. A high variance also seems to be fairly common with hyperthreading enabled. I'm also using the stock TIM that came with the h100, as I was told it is actually really good stuff. Shin-etsu. It's always core #3 that seems to be the oddball. Even on the Ven-X. Everything else is pretty close at idle.

No worries...they used a Dow Corning TIM on the H80 and H100...the H70 and H50 had shin etsu...You might still try to remount it and see what kind of temps you get. It's really common to not get a solid mount on these. If you need some, PM me your details and I'll send you a tube of shin-etsu...(OFFER ONLY FOR DROOGIE!) What were your temps with the Ven-X? My H100 matched my megahalems performance-wise so I can understand.

Also, which profile do you have the H100 set to? There are 3. Low, Balanced, and High

My temps with the Ven-X were about the same as what I'm getting now, but I had a P/P config on there with decent fans. I'm trying those new 1800rpm Swiftech Helix 120's. I have to say, they're dead silent and keeping it relatively cool considering what they're up against. I really want to get 2 more of these on there and put the 2 200's back on top. 6 way push/pull.

The bracket that the radiator mounts to isn't the best for airflow, either. There is a lot between the fans and the radiator. I'd say these fans are doing great. I have a little bit of MX-2 left if I decide to re-seat, but I'll take that shin-etsu smile.gif

H100 is set to full speed. I don't think the H100's controller works with these fans. Just like the Scythe GT's. They seem to run on high by default.
