I only set mind up 2 days ago and i am no expert either, but a few places where I did go wrong.

You don't have to hid the IPs, they are local

When setting up the VB configuration, in the network setting, make sure you set it to bridged and to the network adapter you use for the internet, my motherboard has two RJ45 ports and I use a PCI-E wifi card, the VB configuration defaulted to one of my RJ45 ports.

I then just entered 10.0.0.16 into the wed address bar, you enter your IP that it gives you

AHHhh that might be my problem, usb wifi adapter and not the on board rj45's gonna try that

+rep- that was it, I thought the ip addy was funny since it didnt match my sunet mask (i think thats what its called, been a while since I read about networking)

To use hfm map the fah folder on your vm to a network drive. And to tell it not to start another unit you have to add the -oneunit flag.

Hi guys, frequent reader here and this thread caught my eye. I followed the guide but I am experiencing major computer lag when the folding client is running. Does anyone else experience any lag?

It's somewhere here in the thread... Find your VirtualBox.exe process in Task Manager and set the priority to low.

This isn't working as great as I thought it would; I am getting half the pdd I usually get when running vmware w/ ubuntu 10.10. Thanks for your guide but it looks like I'll be switching back and since I am, maybe I'll give the newest version a try.
