My case supposedly has poor air flow and I have had excellent results with the various kepler cards I've had in this rig. I have 2 low speed 120mm intakes with a rear 120 ans my h100 exhausting up top.

I've got the standard 200mm intake in the front and 200mm exhaust on top. My H60 is on the high end of the back (intake). My top HD tray is taken out which I guess should mean that the card(s) are getting some decent air from the front 200mm.

I have the window in the side, which I do not really plan on changing.

I have no problem whatsoever keeping my 2 5850's cool, but those are reference and exhaust their hot air at the back of my case.

However, with all the stories of issues with the Asus 670 in general the feeling of excitement for an Asus card is just getting lower and lower.
What do personally you think about the 670 in my case (600T white edition)?
I agree that the Gigabyte is a really nice card, but because of all the effort I've put into aesthetics I just cannot live with it wink.gif

I was exactly the same mate. I thought 'I want the best' seen as i spent £359 on a graphics card but when i realised the problems everyone was having with the TOP card and the fact they had no more in stock to give a replacement i decided to just get the non-top card. I was going to get a refund and buy another TOP off the internet but suppliers have put prices up by £40 since i got my TOP card and there was no way i was going to pay this for a factory overclocked card.

I took a chance as i love the design of the card and how cool and quiet it runs and its paid off. I can overclock my non top card higher than my top card did and its not crashing like the old one. Its blistering fast at 1080p even if you get one that doesnt overclock so well. Dont forget the time the KB is added to the non top card, you get 1124mhz anyway which is practically what the TOP should have been thumb.gif

I also have the 600T and if you get the fan setup right, it runs very cool. I have 200mm megaflow intake at the front, another 120mm intake fan in the drive bays, H100 up top with 2 x AP-15's exhausting out and another AP-15as an exhaust in the rear. This way all hot air dumped into the case is extracted though the rear fan and top, the bottom and middle get a clean feed from the intake fans. PM me if you want some more advice / info.

It looks like there is a patch for Max Payne 3, that might help you with the random crashes. Here is the link: By the way - the game is amazing.... and the story is great (on Chapter 7).

Thanks mate. I did patch itself last night so might be all good now. Will have to have a go later and let you know!

ASUS GTX 670 DCII TOP. ACID quality 96%. BC 1137MHz with MBF 1241MHz so KB is only 104MHz. Even the case open (fractal design define R2 with 4 12cm fans) GPU rapidly reaches over 70C when GPU voltage and MBF both tic down a step resulting 1228MHz and 1.162v which is stable. Increasing boost offset even for 10MHz results crashing in Heaven benchmark. Memory seems stable with 290MHz OC, 300MHz OC results some artifacts in a long run. Feels like I got one of the worst cards apart the ones which have higher kepler boosts resulting crashes even at default clocks.

It would probably help to put the h60 as exhaust.

The TOP as been deactivated on Newegg, I'd guess that they're addressing the OC being too high for some chips

Just got my TOP and so far it's looking mighty good. I bought a Gigabyte GTX 670 OC last week but that was a total disaster. Would only boost to 1124MHz and it wasn't 100% stable at that stock clock.
My new TOP boosts to 1267 and seems to be stable. The stock fan profile leaves alot to be desired though. With the stock profile on both of these cards my TOP runs about 10C hotter than the Gigabyte (yes I know the core clock makes a difference as well). Wouldn't hurt for Asus to release an updated firmware with a more aggressive fan profile imho.
To confirm stability once and for all I just finished looping Heaven for almost 3 hours, my TOP's stability is rock solid. Of course it's stable in games too, haven't had any crashes etc thumb.gif

That's boost clock at 1280mhz (stock) and memory +400Mhz biggrin.gif

I havent experienced crashes in other games either, only Max Payne so it leads me to believe its the game not the card.
I will update again at the end of the day. The only difference is today im using afterburner instead of precision x. I prefer afterburner and it does the same thing.

It could be many things.. My buddy is experiencing MP3 crashes too, the only game he has seen them. He uses latest nvidia drivers and GTX570 gpu.

Myself after recent patch I’m getting BF3 crashes (application has stopped. Blah blah)… Prior to the patch everything was fine.
Last night I spend a lot of time with ITB/Prime95 (still running) ITH memtest and memtest86+, guess what I cannot crash my 4.5ghz 3570k. It is a pitta to solve. There is possibility of punkbaster conflicting with my Realtek onboard audio (another thing will be to disable onboard audio).

I did lower my Gigabyte gtx 670 to stock speeds and than I went -100Mhz on the core… without luck… BF3 would freeze and crash with less than half an hour… Some people suggest to reinstall the game, as sometimes the patch doesn’t get install properly.

What I’m trying to say is that there is a chance there is nothing wrong with your o/c GPU… if 4 out 5 games do not exhibit the problem.

As for love for Gigabyte… I cannot even break 1200Mhz on boost… grrrrrr
