Have fun and enjoy your new machine, it will blow the q6600 away so youll notice the improvement instantly.

Yes, i had the heaven settings maxed out. I got a low score, but im guessing its because my old system is bottlenecking it. Correct ?

FPS: 41.2
Scores: 1039
Min FPS: 8.2
Max FPS: 87.6

Im guessing its off due to the Q6600. Im gonna run heaven on max setting for a few hours, while i run to the store and get thermal paste for the cpu. Other then that im not sure if i should start overclocking the memory on this card yet. As im dont want it to crash and then be unstable at stock.

What do you guys think ?

Definitely a bottleneck there.

I'm guessing your Q6600 is at 3.4-3.6?

Sadly im running it at stock. so 2.4 frown.gif

should be nice finally getting the i7 in there. Just looping heaven for a few HRs before i go to the store for thermal paste. In case i need to swap cards.

After hours of testing Heaven and playing BF3 without any vsync (BAD FOR TESTING and IMHO NOT RECOMMENDED when testing o/c stability)... I found the card stable at 1236Mhz boost on core and 3400 on memory. Also I had to use custom fan profile. SeanPoe's o/c guide helped a lot (big thanks thumb.gif ) I was using EVGA app, and then I went back to Afterburner which I've used for the last several years. I haven't seen much difference when o/c, the voltage increase did not help me much.
my final settings are:
PB: 122
CC: +165
MC: + 400
Overall I'm very happy from the card. thumb.gif
I do recommend BF3 64 men server without any ADAPTIVE VSYNC on as FINAL TEST (much better than Heaven), with adapative vsync on even my unstable o/c was good... since the GPU is constantly throttled to produce only 60FPS...
@nemm thanks for the tip on reapplying thermal paste. I will do that, if it helps temps it will cut down on fan noise thumb.gif I'll post back my results. What past have you used? I'm planning to use MX-4.
Thanks EVERYONE for all your help... wink.gif

BE VERY CAREFUL REPLACING THERMAL PASTE ON A GPU. From my experience temps are only ever worse or on par with stock after replacing it, even with good paste like Diamond IC 7. It took 5 attempts before i even got sensible temps when i replaced the TIM on my old GTX 580 and it needed LOADS of the stuff. I really wouldnt replace the thermal paste unless you have to take the cooler off for whatever reason. Its not worth the hassle, stress or price of materials and will probably void your warrenty. Temps on this card are already fantastic.
Thats weird I've always just put a dot like I do on a cpu. Never had any issues. Can't say it ever did much for temps but going from air to water and back to air on many cards temps were always fine with the first try.

Could maybe be a bottleneck, although 41fps is awfully low to have a big BN on a test that's as graphically intensive as Heaven ... but then again I see you're talking a q6600 at stock ... those aren't real fast.

A memory OC will definitely help a decent amount though as the 8xAA makes the Heaven test fairly bandwidth dependent.

Anyone else with the Asus 670 (TOP or non-top) getting random temporary black screens about once a day that last about 1 second and then revert back to normal with no driver crashes or any other problems? This happens if i have the card overclocked or at stock.

Nope never happened to my NON TOP either, its 100% perfect.

My TOP started to black screen a lot and turns out it was faulty but mine actually rebooted itself with no sigal until you turn it off at the wall then back on.
