Asus 670 DirectCU II TOP - Page 149

you wont bake the card, no worries here

is it easy for you to just swap the cards to check if primary (upper card I assume) get to 80C ?

Asus cooler running on "auto" it wont consider 82C worth 100%, I doubt it'll reach 100% till 90C, I'm not sure if you control your GPU fans with your case fan controller

in short, I'd not worry too much and just check it after card swap

vent setup is at max settings (automatic rpm management via corsairlink)
2 corsair aiflow vents as intake from front (1200 rpm max when GPU over 50C)
1 corsair performance fan as intake from back of the case (1700 rpm max when GPU over 50C)
2 corsair SP fans mounted on H100 cooler on top inside of the case pushing the air out the case through H100 radiator (2200 rpm max when GPU over 50C)
ambiente is nowadays around 27C (very hot), case is closed (Corsair 650D), CPU is i7-3820@3.60 no OC
shall i change the air flow or even add in-case fans to keep those cards under 70C eventually (my wish)?
thanks

I'm getting similar temps but with less fans , i only have stock 600T fans (120mm front intake and 120mm top exhaust) , fan controller set to lowest setting and cards are stock no OC
While in SLI my top card is maxing out at 81C lower one at 74C , single card is around 71C also my CPU is Oc'd to 4.2Ghz.
I'm happy with those temps cause i like my rig as quiet as possible.
You're going to have a hard time keeping the top card under 70c , if that is your goal be prepared for your rig to get significantly louder.
For starters you should adjust the fan profile using Afterburner or EVGA Prec X see how that works for you.

Mine works fine sofar

Runs 1241 on boost stock.

Have it slightly overclocked +260 on memory and +29 on gpu. So boost is now 1270 mhz. Havent pushed it further.

I run a custom fanprofile trough MSI Afterburner. Its placed in a old Antec +182 case with 4 x 120 mm fans and a Noctua Nh-12p? with 2 x 120 mm fans. I cant hear it at 75% fanspeed. So I run it 40% fanspeed Idle and 75% full load. This gives me 30C idle and 58-60C full load after 30 mins in Heaven (this is in a hot summeroffice with 26+C).

would be really useful if we could get a poll going for whos got a faulty TOP and whos got a stable one and what sort of overclocks your getting so we can see at a glance just how big this issue is. I think only the OP can do this though.

Maybe These options:

TOP OWNER - STABLE

TOP OWNER - 1300MHZ STABLE

TOP OWNER - UNSTABLE (RMA)

NON TOP OWNER - STABLE

NON TOP OWNER - 1300MHZ STABLE

NON TOP OWNER - UNSTABLE (RMA)

Does anyone else's clock speed go down more than 1 if they lower their overclock 1? I'm lowering my boost from 98 on my non-top, which gives me a 1228 core, to 97, and I'm suddenly getting a 1215 core?

Sounds a little strange. Maybe your card is throttling? What are your temps like?

+1 doesnt always only give you 1mhz, sometimes its 2 or 3 before you reach your target. for example i was getting 1298 mhz so increased it by +2 and it sat at 1299mhz. Shouldn't be as bigt a gap as your though...hmmm

Asus just released new bios for TOP cards
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/GTX670DC2T2GD5/#download
Quote:
VBIOS update for GTX670-DC2T-2GD5
1. Improve 3D stability & compatiblity.
Note: Double click the .exe to update the VBIOS under OS.

Since my card is perfectly stable I'm not touching it until we know what it does, but people with problems should definitely install it since there is nothing to lose.
