those are some awesome numbers you've got there
I'm pretty sure my observation is correct for my scenario and minimum to average cooled cases,

I have pretty small desktop case, 1x92mm fan intake 2x80mm fans outtake, yours is twice as big

now the thing I'm gona link is pretty gorss and outdated by 3 years, but the case is still with me wink.gif

The max boost is 1302 in AB, boost in GPUZ is 1145.

yes, this is a great driver tons of improvements for the 670. you probably didn't include "beta" in your driver search http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-304.48-beta-driver.html

Sorry, if I upgrade the bios of my "non-top" to the Top version, the max PT will become 136% ?
thx!

Thanks :-)

I see now, you're in an HTPC situation, makes a lot more sense, I'm sure you're right that it's fairly typical for that application.

Does it flicker in Heaven?

Ok managed to disable every playback sound except the onboard.

With displayport plugged in it still manages to go into power save but not as often (now it happens every 5 - 10 seconds and lasts approx 3 - 5 seconds before it comes back up and repeats)

just installed those beta drivers from nvidia they released - which i dont think they have helped since according to others it seemed to have Lowered clock speeds.

Managed to run a heaven benchmark, it stayed on the whole time, sound was playing (good sign), however i noticed all the lettering is now slighty fuzzy (no its not my eyes!).
FPS: 58.9
Score 1484
2560x1600
4xAS
Disabled - Tess
0xAA

looks poor to me, but at least the card is working, perhaps i might have to look at the RMA option!?

Still running only 1 card, have tried to put both in and attempt SLI with 2nd set of ports, still the same result.

Thinking of using MSI afterburner to increase the card speeds to see if that might snap it out..

Can someone give me some basic increase to perform on the card to a nice stable clock speed? i dont want to go crazy, just a small increase will suffice.

thanks again G for the Assistance, much appreciated, hopefully i am getting closer to resolving this.....

thx!

Sorry for any confusion caused, my card is non TOP with original bios, the max PT slider setting is 122% as is every other Asus non TOP and TOP versions are 117%.
This card however reaches PT beyond 122% even though ive set it at 122%, the highest reading recorded was 136% at the clocks mentioned in a previous post.

I left the card running heaven max overnight for 6hrs, when I woke it was still running, no errors or artifacts so its stable enough for me at the final clocks smile.gif
