What are your needs and particular wants for your future gtx670. If you go through each of the threads for the cards you have listed, you will see their specific attributes; strengths and weaknesses I guess (well..depends on what you consider a strength and a weakness). From there I am sure you can make an educated choice as to which gtx670 model you should purchase. For me, I chose the Asus because of its aesthetics, value, and silence. If you want more OC, it looks like MSI may be trying to do something with that, but I have my doubts. I hear great things about the gigbyte one...I just don't like the blue pcb :\ ..i had my gigbyte hd5770 for too long before this.

Don't waste your time on the TOP. I say this because I did, and got a bunch of issues. Went to a Non-Top and I'm happy. Overclock it yourself smile.gif You'll find that you will go beyond TOP clock speeds your first try. I have no faith in Asus' claimed binning system.

I have a feeling Asus accidentally "switched" TOP GPUs and NON TOP GPU's around at the factory...lol tongue.gif

So that means "binned" TOP GPU's, went into the NON TOP GPU "body" (915/980mhz)....thats why alot of non TOPs are able to overclock well

I got a TOP and it came 1280Mhz out of the box. Rock solid stable, extremely happy with it.

And no, it's not guaranteed that non TOP will OC higher than TOP. Please stop posting false information and give people false hopes. It's all silicon lottery.

Bought that $399.99 stock clock one from Amazon this morning. I'll be getting it Tuesday! Have another ASUS product (the new PA248Q 1920x1200 monitor) coming Monday, so I'll be set for some more enjoyable gaming shortly.

How many times would people actually explain here that there is no "binning" with these cards?

No false information spread, reread my post again and try to comprehend my message. Stock TOP clock speed is 1137mhz, I have yet to see even one non-TOP fail to clock above that stated value. The silicon lottery notion is already an accepted fact, i.e. why I have no faith in their falsely claimed binning system. However, I can be wrong, please go ahead and produce me some numbers or instances where non-tops failed to go above 1137mhz. The lowest value I have seen posted here is 1180mhz. I won't gurantee it like you assume I did, but i will say a good percentage will go beyond 1137mhz.

I'm not coming out of the fray without prior experience either. If you read the entire thread, you may have noticed I was one of the first to post issues with my first card, which was a TOP. My TOP went to 1284mhz out of the box, yet it was unstable. That is why the consensus seems to be that these cards are clocked beyond what a good amount of the chips are rated at. I'm happy with my mild OC atm, but if i tweak it more; i can get it to 1288 coreclock. So, in my instance, yes my Non-TOP has overclocked to TOP overclock speeds lol. Even more interesting, with the new beta drivers, my oc's seem to be a lot more stable also. In either case, I am not arguing that all Non-TOPS can get to 1280-1300mhz or whatever you may have had in mind. I am saying Non-TOP's are overwhelmingly likely to OC over 1137mhz, the factory overclock speeds that the TOPs are supposed to be pushing.

Furthermore, you may have been one of the lucky ones, but many of us were not and when a good number of us received our TOPs, they were unstable out of the box. This is before there was even a BIOs to "Fix" this. Imagine if you can, the annoyance and anger many of us had. This is the reason why I opted to go save that extra $19 dollars and grab a non-TOP so that I can do the overclocking instead of Asus -- especially since you and I both were planning to OC past 1137mhz anyway. lol it's not like a TOP is going to help you win your silicon lottery and you know it.

You are comparing TOP cards base clock of 1137Mhz to non top's Kepler boost clock of 1137? I don't really see the point of such comparison. You then go on to say all non TOP's will OC beyond 1137, so when Kepler boost kicks in they will go beyond 1300Mhz? I think you need to understand how Kepler boost works tongue.gif

The TOP cards base clock is 1052mhz. lol, they say boost clock is 1137mhz. But out of the box, they go to 1280mhz for some reason, not sure if it's because of the original bios. You may have to revisit your thoughts on what you think kepler boost is eh hm XP

The Non-Top card has a base clock of 915 and boosts up to 1127mhz or so. Yup. I apologize if my wording threw you off on what I meant to say. I only utilized the total clock (ie. base clock + kepler boost) to make it easier for you since you were giving your example in the same manner, your final clock speed. So you can up your offset, let's say 157ish for a Non-Top at 915mhz; plus the average kepler boost should round you around 1280mhz.

ANYWHO! Defusing the tension smile.gif, believe what you want to believe. But if you check out everyone's overclocks, tops and non-tops alike, they arent very different. The only variance would be the chip itself, whether it be a golden one or what not. If that is the case, and if there really isn't a binning proicess lol; wouldn't it be a better value for the dude who asked which one to buy; to buy the non-top? Esp. with the issues the TOPs originally had (though i hope the BIOS fixed it all).
