Asus 670 DirectCU II TOP - Page 189

I run my non-top at 122% power, 100+ core, and 500+ memory. Maxes at 1228 MHz on the core. I still have yet to find the absolute barrier but it's not too much higher. Best Heaven run was I think 49.6 fps all maxed 1080p etc.

What numbers are amd builds getting with the new beta drivers? I have been able to overclock a lot more with these drivers, but i feel like my heaven score isn't what it should be. I'm getting 46 fps ish.

What are you able to overclock to(memory and gpu)? 46 FPS is right where the default clock should run at, make sure you've turned off forced vsync and changed power to max in the nvdia driver settings as well. Also desktop settings like aero can lower your scores a bit so you might try a run with windows7 features disabled. If not it might be your CPU, if you have an intel setup it might be worth seeing if it's faster there. On my Asus top I get ~47 at stock(top is already OC at 1136), stable overclock to 1313 boost +500 memory i get ~51-52. Besides doing benchmarks I default to stock as i can't tell the difference in a few FPS and i'd prefer my card to last long enough that i can get a real bump up in speed under SLI once the 670 drops <$300.

1145 low? or somewhere in the low 1200s?

After keeping up with the 670 news, I noticed "most" will hit 1200 or up....yes it gets more rare for those hitting 1300 and up, but generally speaking I see alot of 1200 and up....I only see VERY few hit below 1200, and if they did, its still in the upper range of 1100's (1190 for example)
The person I'm referring to was like mid to high 1100's.

I'd really like the PC to be nearly inaudible. I'm prepared to make a custom sound-padded TV stand with muffled air in-/outlets if that what it takes, but as you know, fan noise isn't easily completely dampened. Is this card a good or bad choice?

I'm using this card in htpc rig, to put it short it's inaudiable yet most powerfull card I've ever had in this htpc, and I'm using this htpc case (Silverstone LC17) for over 5 years with differentcomponents
Other fans I have are Noctua 92/80mm pwm fans and Corsair hx fan, while watching movies they dont go above 1000rpm and still Asus is dead silent
I'm so picky about noise that hdd I'm using are 5400rpm ultra quiet drives or ssd, I coulnt find any 7200rpm drive silent enough for this rig

Did you really need a GTX 670 for an HTPC? Do you game on it or anything?

Got my card back from rma 40 minutes ago. It's getting artifacts on the desktop, constant driver crashes and won't run anything, game or benchmark. It just give a black/purple screen with blocky artifacts all over. Asus is incompetent and I just wasted 3 weeks waiting for junk. Awesome.

everyone who got a dud, ASUS needs to replace your card(s) with 7950's.
