it's obvious that they just mailed your busted card right back to you. any ASUS rep on this forum? lol, i doubt it.

I have 2 screens for this computer, one is Tv and pc is under Tv side by side with AVR, other screen is regular 21,5" monitor mounted to wall in the corner of the room (5m usb&hdmi cables hidden in walls ftw), movies and games I can play with gamepad goes to tv, other games like BF3, Diablo,Total War, I prefer on little screen

yea they did. they claimed they repaired some "trace" or "lose bla bla bla", but lets be serious. they didn't even test the thing. NOW they offer a replacement card and free shipping. well, if I get an email by Tuesday that is. ridiculous. alot has changed since I had the crosshair IV it seems. evga puts out a bad batch of a certain model, they come right out and acknowledge an issue, offer free replacement to customers with a better model and discontinue the problem model. asus is disgusting by comparison. they deny to this moment that their cards have issues. they pretend nobody has filed complaints. the cards aren't even coming back in stock at 90% of the stores that sold them and it ain't got nothing to do with supply. they release a vbios (my card was fine until I flashed it btw) that reduces speeds, and in turn performance, on a premium priced card. never again. what happened to this company?

I have a feeling Asus just got so huge...they just get greedy and keep all the money for themselves....and don't want to invest resources into quality customer service or public relations

I hope I don't have to deal with them any time soon....I dealt with them twice in the past....both were actually smooth....but I still hear way too many horror stories

I think that's true to a large extent. I had a great experience with my ROG motherboard before and even the RMA for that, but at the same time (a little after) my friend had the worst of his life trying to RMA his X58 Sabertooth lol. I dealt with Asus on his behalf for alot of it and it was like X58 Sabertooth was the plague lol. They did not want to touch it. No replies for weeks, kept claiming this board was not in stock for RMA when it was going in and out of stock at all retailers like clockwork. Months trying to get a replacement and it never happened. That crap is still in the box practically new on top of my dresser lol. He swore off Asus right there. They might be taking a dive due to being number one in their main category (motherboards) and feel they are beyond reproach. They already don't make any decent intel boards for less than $180 or $200. Especially in the $130-$160 range, they have the worst choices for 1155 boards lol. Enough though. I'll just buy an EVGA card at microcenter.

I just wish EVGA made more epic cooling graphics card....they usually stick with reference blower type cards...and I'm not into those...plus I need all the cooling I can get, since my room is hot as fark...thats the reason why I got the Asus because the DC2 keeps the GPU super cool....and its freaking quiet as heck! I just loathe Asus' service though....EVGA on the other hand, I have complete confidence

IMO I think EVGA would make a killing if they got more serious into twin fan, direct contact copper heat pipe type coolers....I know they have the twin fan DS series of cards...but those were far from quiet

Same concerns here. If they made a nice dual fan cooler they would be the only option I even consider.

the above is the same reason i decided on the dcuII instead of evga. if evga made some with non reference cooler i'd have got one. stories like the one from pureblack make me thankful my top works (even if it isnt the best overclocker). cant imagine the headache something like this would cause

I have made a conclusion... the stock TIM is terrible, or at least on my card it was. I wanted to mess with my OC a bit more, and while running Heaven, I hit 77C! I'm in a hot room, probably close or at 90F so keep that in mind, but I still expected better. So I decided to try some new TIM, pulled of the heatsink, put a dot of some MX4 on it, and now have peaked at just 72C. And that is with absolutely no cure time. Oddly though, the stock TIM looked quite evenly spread, as it was clearly done by a machine, so it must just be some lower quality TIM.

So if anyone else is getting hot-ish temps, I'd suggest trying new TIM.
