Yeah, I have a 1241 max boost and I saw max temp 69 C and max fan speed 100% in Precision. I have an R4, which isn't a super great gaming case but I didn't think it would be terrible. I have 2 Akasa Vipers in the front as intake. The problem is removing the side panel so it has plenty of air doesn't yield better temps, I believe it was 3 or 4 degrees last time I tested it. That's significant enough, but not outrageous for me to think there's not enough intake. My ambient is between 22 and 24 C, I don't it ever gets hotter than that.

I found my GTX 670 ran hot when i had my H100 fans set to intakes. I now have them as exhaust and the temps are much better on my gpu. Im guessing because the hot air is being pulled out of the case instead of being trapped inside and reheating your gpu. The direct cu ii design dumps hot air into your case so you need decent fans to remove that hot air in the top and back. Pulling the side panel off my rig doesnt help with temps either because the intake (cold air) can then just escape and doesnt supply your components with a supply of cold air.

Do you have a radiator in the top of your case atall?

Its not unheard of that an incorrect TIM application is to blame for poor temps but i would just be 100% sure its nothing else before ripping it apart as it can sometimes be a ball ache of a job to get the right amount of tim, a good spead & correct contact with the heatsink.

I didn't about not having enough exhaust, I put a spare fan in the roof as exhaust and just a 3 C drop in temps. I think you're on the right track, thanks biggrin.gif

I have an H80 in the rear as exhaust, I liked the idea of dumping hot air outside.

I have had driver crashes in GW2 but that was when I was using my 3DMark11 profile rather than my stable Heaven profile. Was your OC stable in Heaven as well? Looping Heaven with max settings for a few hours?

Just asking out of curiosity, has anyone with the altered/modded BIOS experienced difference in performance with the new BETA drivers? 306.02

How many modded BIOS have been made for the asus directcuii?

Great news MME1122!

I used to have a H50 in the rear as exhaust, that's the correct way of doing it. Make sure you have a clean intake feed located near the bottom if possible (so the cold air is blowing into and across the GPU and decent exhaust fans up top to remove rising hot air. Once you have the correct setup you should see great temps....not that they are too bad as it is anyway! Whats your max temp now?

I was surprised to see such a large decrease in GPU temps when fiddling around with fan setups but it sure makes things simple and cheap too! thumb.gif
