I have my benches up earlier in this post.

OC cards have lower clocks than TOP, but higher clocks than vanilla DC2

I think Asus stopped making the TOP card because they couldn't get any good speed binned chips. 1137 boost clock is really high for a stock card. I know alot of TOP card owners were hitting mid to sometimes even high 1200's stock. Thats pretty beastly...and I guess NV wasn't putting out anymore great chips frown.gif

Ya i figured as much, and its really hard finding a TOP card to buy atm.

Just wanted to ask if it was worth getting another asus card, or pickup say a FTW 670 as some of them will clock pretty close to my TOP.

If you are okay with mixing and matching, thats cool....but I would recommend picking up the DC2 OC version and keep it the same....yeah its lower clocked, but its not going to be noticeable in game. The huge performance gains you get from going SLI will make you forget about a small clock difference thumb.gif

is it safe to overlock memory on GTX670/680 DirectCU II? asking because on DCII models are no heatsink
if yes how high OC could be safe?

When I was thinking about SLI with my 670DC2 I decided I would pair with an FTW instead since the chances of finding a good clocker 1300+ seemed more likely going with the FTW but in the end I opted out of SLI putting the funds towards another build.

Before wc my considered safe memory overclock was 1752 even though the card was passing all tests at 1832 but the card was too close to the throttle point temperature which I wasn't happy with and decided on the wc route. The card has been running 1372/1826 for 6 months no problem and since the temperature never goes above 50 I am more than happy to run at those clocks and consider them safe.

nemm

1. before Water cooling, at that Temperature was throttling of GPU?
2. do memory overlock impact on GPU temperature?
3. do you know what temperature have got memory if its overclocked around 1700-1800mhz?
4. your Water clooing system on videcard have heatsink on the memory?

Hello.
Guys, i need your advice since you are ASUS GTX 670 DC2T owners. I was going to buy new GIGABYTE GeForce GTX660 Ti GV-N66TOC-2GD with full warranty and support, but now i have an opportunity to buy new ASUS GTX670-DC2T-2GD5 for the same money, but without any warranty and without chance to return it if anything will go wrong. I read that this card from Asus had some problems with stability, often died and because of this it even discontinued. Is it so? What would you choose Asus 670 DC2T as is or Giga 660 Ti with full warranty?

Thank you

You might still be able to RMA the card if there's something wrong with it. you'd have to check the terms and conditions on asus. I'd personally, want a warranty with a new card just incase something happens within the first week or 2. Usually after 2 weeks, what ya got is what ya get. My first ASUS 670 non-top card would only do 1150MHz core. It was a previously RMA'ed card too, open box from newegg. Got it for $290. Did advanced RMA with asus because it would artifact after I brought it back from sleep, got a new card back, new card would do 1280MHz core. Still a non-top. So its iffy from what i've experienced and read.... my 670 can beat alot of 680's stock or overclocked. I'm near the top of the list in single cards of the heaven 1.0 benchmark. 1267MHz/1842MHz core/memory.

Guys, I got an issue with my 670 DC2.

First of all, it only shows me using 30% power? I don't understand when others are at 100-120%. Maybe a bug on the card itself?

Also it downclocks itself from 1032 to 980 for no reason in BF3. I set it to max performance in control panel and even disabled GPU boost but does the same thing. And to make it even worse, this card gets +50 on core offset..

:/
