You don't have to change the fan curve, but you should. With the default fan profile my Asus TOP was hitting 75C and throttling itself by 13mhz. It takes like 5 seconds to change it, you can just use a quick and dirty method of 1% fan increase for every 1C temp increase.

Finally got off of work and had a chance to install the card, she's really pretty...like damn, one of the nicest cards I've ever owned...but my question to all you guys is, how do you know if your card may possible be "bad"?

I was tired, so I didn't want to OC, tried and failed. I restarted my computer and just said whatever and went on to play all the games I could think of. Everything was working well, nice fps; everything I wanted from this card...but then BF3 started crashing, metro 2033,...everything demanding crashed. ME3 didn't crash on me at all, but you know....

Btw, these are all stock settings now. I installed the latest drivers from Nvidia's site. I don't see artifacts or anything, it just crashes...I also heard some really weird sound when I was playing bf3 but I wasn't paying attention much (kinda wasn't sure if it was the fan's working hard or some weird screech--ish).

In all your experiences with bad cards, please do enlighten me. (for now imma try to play bf3 one more time)

MSI Afterburner or any other program like that. There are a lot of them, but I prefer Afterburner.

Also I was successful running heaven.

What gives is that (almost) every Kepler card has an automatic 'Kepler Boost' above and beyond what's listed as your 'Boost Clock' in GPU-Z. Sounds like the amount of your KB is (1140-1049) = 91MHz. The Kepler Boost is visible only in 'real-time', i.e. when running a 3d app and checking the graphs in AB/Precision. Whatever yours is, this additional boost number should consistently get added on top of whatever your listed Boost clock is in GPU-Z .

My card has a Kepler Boost of 130MHz (my stock 'boost clock' is 1059, but when I monitor a running app I always get 1189MHz actual operating frequency). I've seen KB's anywhere from 0 to 235 on 670/680 samples that people have posted on the boards over the past couple weeks.

I don't think the amount of the KB really means too much overall in terms of what your max overclock will be, but it's nice to have a higher one if you don't plan on OC'ing yourself.

Mine crashes at 117% power control. Anything above 110% power control crashes for me. Even if i keep the clocks the same as when they are stable with 110%. 110% Power Control generally hovers around 108% for me but it does creap over 110% sometimes. 110% maxes the boost core out anyway so i see little need to go any higher as it doesnt seem to do a lot.
Dogimed - Sounds very odd. I can do + 33 on my core bringing it to 1300mhz. +38 was also stable. Anything over and i crash. You running 117% power control? if so lower it to 100% and try again.

Even if I left power at 100% it still crashes, will try some more. If not i'm just gonna give up, lol.

GTX670 DCu2 TOP price is ~60$ more then GTX670 DCu2 (without TOP).
Is it worth to buy TOP version? And there are only ~150mhz difference?

Put power limit to 125% and fan speed at 70% then try again.
