pretty much nailed it on the head right here. simply put a card that crashes at stock no matter the boost is no good. i'd hate to try and sell my current TOP.....

i still recommend this card and the non top card though. best 670 period despite all the minor problems.

Well I keep setting the fan to 40% and then upon checking later its back at 10%, also, if i specify a percent such as 40%, what if the card requires the fan to speed up but it cant cus its stagnant at 40%?

also, what settings should i use on heaven/score should i be getting at stock clocks in heaven?

No one ever said to just set it at 40% and leave it. You need to make a better fan profile. For 50c use 50% for 60c use 60%. etc.
Then set the fan to "user defined" in AB or "fan curve" in precision.

As for heaven there is about 2 or 3 results posted on every page. And some point people gotta do some reading for themselves.

Got my TOP yesterday. Stock boost was 1240. Set +30 clock + 400 mem and did some tests in Heaven. Will refine it when I get my new monitor, 1280x1024 isn't exactly representable of what will happen at 2560x1440.

Can you post your Nvidia CP for D3?
Thank you man!

Hey baltagir, unfortunately at work right now so I can't get a screenshot of my NVCP. But I do have Vsync on in-game and not in the CP, this way it doesn't effect other 3D apps like heaven when testing.

The only other option I turned on was triple buffering as I read it helps when combined with vsync. FXAA is off and I used the in-game AA.

With vsync off I do notice tearing but it's very smooth with it on for me. I've read various reports of people having stuttering issues using adaptive vsync.

Got mine in a few days ago. Loving this card so far! The workmanship and aesthetic of this card just screams "quality".

Looks like it wants to boost to 1293mhz out of the box, but it's also running a bit hot so it throttles itself down to 1280 (which still seems to be on the higher end) I haven't tried overclocking anything yet and honestly.. probably won't bother with the main clock if it's already running this close to 1300. The memory will definitely be getting a bump though.

Rock solid so far, no crashes or artifacting.

As I mentioned, it seems to be running bit on the hot side running 42c at idle and 74c under load (even after I upped the fan speed to 40% at base and 75% at 60c) I'm running this in a Fractal Arc Mini with two 120mm intake fans in the front and one 120mm exhaust fan blowing out the top of the case. I suspect this isn't the best setup in terms of airflow.

Fans are super quiet until they get to about 70-80% then they become audible over the rest of my case fans.

My only issue so far is that I had a hell of time getting my HDMI output to work.
1) Form some reason any output from that port was being killed by the driver after Windows loaded. A reinstall of the driver fixed that.
2) I'm trying to run 3 monitors (non-surround) off of this card and ran into an issue where my older 1280x1024 viewsonics were getting no signal from the HDMI port (using a DVI adapter) It turns out that those monitors don't support HDCP and it looks like this card requires it. I simply plugged the HDMI->DVI cable into my main 1920x1200 monitor (which does support HDCP) and used the two DVI ports for my 1280x1024's and everything is working now.

I do have a few questions though:
1) Is there any downside to running my main (gaming) monitor off of the HDMI port using a DVI adapter?
2) Is there any way to disable HDCP on the HDMI port to allow me to run a non-HDCP compliant monitor off of that port?

I have played D3 for hours already at 2560x1600 and have not had any issues with tearing. I left everything at default in the nvidia control panel except for changing Adaptive VSync to ON. Within D3 all settings are maxed out. D3 runs very smoothly, I certainly notice less choppiness compared to my older 560Ti 448 Cores.

Get this card 100%! I had a 680 until it blew up (my fault) but this card is at MAX 5% worse than a 680 and then that depends on your OC, people overclock their 670's higher than 680's (dunno how often but it does happen). I have two of these, my only possible issue is my 2nd card boosts to 1204 while my 1st card boosts to 1267. This may just be something that happens when you SLI the card but I doubt it.

So far the 670 models I find most interesting are DirectCUII if you want to go with air cooled , same with the gigabyte and zotac ( although I find zotac cards consistantly cheaper ) and the evga FTW 4gb version is the best bang for your buck and uses the EK-FC 680 GTX waterblock, win win if you ask me .
