Hey guys, I've been reading these forums for a few weeks now and I need some help finalizing my build. Please let me know if I should add or replace anything. Here's what I came up with so far...

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel, SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail $44.99

GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $115.99

eVGA 512-P2-N573-AR GeForce 7900GTO 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail $253.99

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 EPS12V EPS12V 610W Continuous @ 40°C Power Supply - Retail $159.99

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6300 - Retail $183.00

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4 - Retail $280.00

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $77.99

Thermaltake Big Typhoon CL-P0114 120mm Cooling Fan with Heatsink - Retail $43.99

Total = $1160

If approved, I plan on buying these parts within the week. I know some new stuff is coming out soon, should I wait for them to come out and hope for a price drop or would the price difference be minimal?

Thanks for taking time out to read my post. Hope to hear from you soon!

Go for a Seagate 320GB I reckon because it has PR. Otherwise looking very good. Wanna compare my benchies to yours .

Hey NrGx, thanks a lot for replying. As far as your suggestion goes, I think I will be replacing the Western Digital Hard Drive for the one you suggested. I believe you're refering to this one?

Thanks again for the advice!

Only other suggestion I might add is drop down a notch or two on the PSU and step up on the motherboard.
S3's are nice, but I had to fight mine tooth and nail. Eventually I got so fed up with it that I relegated it to my media machine with a Celeron D.

If you want to stay in the same price range, the Biostar Tforce or the Foxconn 9657AA are pretty good.

If you want to jump up a notch or two the P5B deluxe is the best bet.

As for PSU's check out the OCZ Gamestream line, with your system you really shouldn't need more than 500 watts

Hey Whodie, sounds like you had a pretty bad time with the S3. You got me kind of worried now. I checked out the Biostar Tforce and the Foxconn P9657AA, but I think I might just bite the bullet and go with the Asus P5B Deluxe. I don't know though, is the $70 dollar jump worth it?

I also looked into the OCZ Gamestream line like you said. I couldn't find any 500W ones on Newegg, but I found a 600W one.

Looks like I'll be saving around $45, but now it seems like it'll be going towards the P5B Deluxe. Just when you think you saved a few bucks, you end up spending more, damn!

Now I have another problem, the 7900GTO's are out of stock on Newegg. What video card do you guys recommend I get? My range is around the $250 area.

Thanks again for the help!

The S3's and DS3's have been known to overclock high. They usually reach a 450+ FSB. A high FSB is really needed on the E6300 due to its low multiplier.

Great choices on everything . For the Graphics card, i would recomend the X1900GT. 36 pixel shaders come in handy

Sorry guys, been busy lately. Enough time to read the posts, but not enough time to post. Anyways, here I go...

Wankerfx -
Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it, but I think I am gonna go for the Asus P5B Deluxe.

BloodThirstyEmu -

Thanks for the compliment. Anyways, I took a look at the X1900GT and I was pretty certain I was gonna get it until I saw the X1950pro for the exact same price.

Here's my updated build. I'll probably start buying everything on the weekend, so stop me if I'm making a mistake!

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel, SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail $44.99

ASUS P5B Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail $184.99

SAPPHIRE 100176L Radeon X1950PRO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 CrossFire Video Card - Retail $199.99

OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI ATX12V 600W Power Supply - Retail $119.99

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6300 - Retail $181.99

Crucial Technology 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TY2KIT12864AA663 - Retail $229.99

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $94.99

Thermaltake Big Typhoon CL-P0114 120mm Cooling Fan with Heatsink - Retail $43.99

Total - $1100.92

I read on these forums that these particular Crucial memory sticks were better than the Corsair I initially picked. If anyone has any concerns about that, please let me know.

Also, I wasn't going to buy a sound card, but I read that the onboard audio will suck up some processing power. Should I invest in a sound card or will I be fine with just using what comes on the motherboard?

Thanks!

P5B deluxe is another good choice.
