7950 Issues. I know, very original.

Thread Starter
Until I upgraded to 12.4 I was having no issues. Why do it? I dunno, I just did it : \
Now, a week later, I am dealing with the random driver crashing and recovering when I would boot or whatever, and then I saw someone post up that 12.5 was up, did a little web searching and some people said it helped em with that problem.
Well, not for me.

What I have done so far,
I downloaded 12.1 again, and then used ATIman uninstaller to wipe all the previous drivers and such.
Then I did it again for funsies.
I then began to install 12.1, restarted my computer.
No CCC, and MSI AB is not recognizing my device on the computer.

Run the installer again. Still no driver.

Used ATIman again,
install again.
Nothing. I'm very confused, and if there is something I'm doing awfully wrong I would like to know!
Any and all help is appreciated... Not trying to format windows today but if it's necessary I guess it's going down.

Side note: Of course all this had to go down during the Chimpin -.-

downloaded 12.2 and installed to see if that would help. Got CCC on my computer, but now I just get constant driver recovering. Time to format if I can get to my important docs...

Seriously you should just use plain and simple driversweeper
Second download latest afterburner 2.2.1

Do not start msi afterburner and let the cards standard before do anything else

Now download the latest driver install it, again do not start afterburner

Make sure afterburner is not set to run at any non standard clocks then download the files provided on the msi afterburner forum which repair the problem with amd removing some files
which are needed by afterburner

Follow the directions on the forum on placing the files in the proper map(s) and then start afterburner at your wish

You see it will work fine after that, at least it worked fine for me with all versions of drivers
At least it worked perfect on my crossfire 7970 system

Had some interesting issues as well, after using ATIman and installing 12.4 I'd BSOD on boot, had to clone a one SSD to another several times to figure it out. 12.4 CCC wouldn't run for me with my sig rig, running 12.3 right now.

So its ATIman uninstaller caused it?? Well, I use 12.4 WHQL right now, and from 12.3 WHQL to 12.4 WHQL I did clean uninstall with ATIman Uninstaller, so far no problem at all with HD7970 smile.gif I guess ATIman Uninstaller has problem with HD7950.... For HD7950 user best keep away from ATIman Uninstaller, I guess smile.gif

I wouldn't go that far to say ATIman was causing me to crash. I'd say that ATIman just wasn't actually deleting all of my AMD files out of the system, leaving pieces of 12.4 that could have potentially been causing the crashes. I want to say it's safe to use with Driversweeper to fully delete everything off the system, but Driversweeper alone was wiping my system of those pesky files, so I don't really see the use of ATIman, especially when Driversweeper is so much easier to use.

PS: Still crash free. thumb.gif
