To be happy with my set-up next year and the year after. I have not run into a game that i could not max out right now with the exception of games with issues like batman arkham city runs like crap in dx11 no matter what you have.

But i have noticed some slow down with my work stuff. Today I realized my CPU is actually costing me money at this point.

For work I customize accounting software and I took on a project with a larger client, with the reports that i have to make they can get very large and demanding on the CPU. With my current setup one of the things I have to test out takes 15 min to run, on my client's computer they are used to 30 and when we have this running on their server it is only about 5 min. But with security restrictions I have to demonstrate on my computer before they let me touch their server. So I cannot in good faith charge my client for all the hours of waiting and testing, so the way I see it if it can cut the processing time down by even 10% it would actually end up paying for its self.

Whether you go with SB or the 8120, over the next two years you'll get more mileage out of an excellent GPU setup than you would noticing much of a difference between the two.

Let's all be honest here....unless you plan on doing massively multi-threaded tasks (video editing, rendering etc) are you really going to notice much of a difference, especially with gaming where the GPU is the more important part of the equation, to make you want to buy the top intel i7 or justify paying for Ivy (problems and all) over either the 8120 or the 2500k?

For work I definitely will notice the difference, what kind of problems are we talking about here with ivy?

*Donning anti-flame suit in preparation of spIntel flamers*

The fabrication problems causing higher than expected V required and high temperatures. IMHO it's a good idea to sit band and wait till the next stepping before buying IB if you want to OC. Especially if you already own a SB cpu.

Due to its 22nm size it also heats up alot when you OC.... SB is far better IMO if your considering intel, not to mention the whole non-soldered crappy TIM they used for the heat spreader....
