x1600 Crossfire help!

Hey guys im thinking about adding a crossfire setup to my PC now but i was wondering if this setup will work....

im buying this board:
MSI RD480 Neo2
http://www.thg.ru/mainboard/20051231...0-boardbig.jpg

and i have this card:
Asus EAX1600pro 512mb PCI-E
http://www.intera.kg/office/images/ASUS%20EAX1600.jpg

Ive been reading and what i think i understand is that the SCSI looking ports on the crossfire ready card is supposed to be a master card and u just need a regular one as a secondary but the thing is that the ASUS EaX1600Pro Does not come crossfire ready..... I had seen somewhere that these cards dont need a master card... but id llike to know for sure....

The x1600 and the x1300 don't need a crossfire edition card nor do they need the y link cables for them.

thank you i just found and article about this..... I hope this answers anyone elses questions about this....

Quote:
ATI decided not to require a compositing chip when operating X1600 in Crossfire mode. Instead of using a cable, ATI decided to use the PCI Express bus. As the cards will not likely saturate the PCI Express bus, even with two of them, this is a good choice. To operate X1600 in Crossfire mode, simply install the two cards, install the drivers and enable Crossfire.

Do you mean that there are different drivers to crossfire?

The drivers in the ATI CCC control the whole CF link between the two cards such as the X1600XT+Pro and X1300

No master card or external cables needed.
