Reasons a Bios wouldn't show up?

Thread Starter
Alright, I am fairly positive everything is plugged in correctly now.

However, When I plug in the DVI cable and hook it up to the monitor no bios shows up.

I am trying to figure out why the bios won't show up. For that matter absolutely nothing appears on the monitor at all.

Try switching the RAM to different slots (I had a similar problem, and this fixed it).

I actually tried this to no avail.

I even switched ram sticks altogether using a set that is verified to work.

I have even taken the GPU out and put it in another computer and checked that.

Still, at the moment it won't output to a monitor.

Does the monitor you're using have a DVI connector or is it VGA with a DVI adapter? If it is a VGA with a DVI adapter you must plug it into the uppermost DVI port on that 6870 you have there. I had the same problem myself, hope it works out for you! All of this is assuming the rig in your signature is the one you're posting about.

Apparently CPU pins were bent at some point before I got involved with this project. frown.gif

Aw man, that sucks. Was it one of those CPU sockets with the hundreds of hairlike wires in it? Not even sure what you would call it but I've dealt with a few of those socket types before, the slightest screw-up and it's done for unless you have a super steady hand, a friggin magnifying glass, the tiniest tweezers you can find and a horseshoe up your butt. Sorry to hear the bad news, was it still under warranty? confused.gif
