Hi there i have only just seen this site a couple of days ago but there is so much help and info on here i had to join. this site looks really good and hopefully i can get some help on here lol. i am a 18 yr old from good old New Zealand and am very very interested in computers ive been building them since i was about 12 and know way around the parts and all of that but recently i have been very interested in overclocking and need some help with a few things. My rig at the moment is a q6600 @ 3.182ghz with 2gb ddr2800 g skill ram on a gigabyte p35-ds3 mobo with a xfx hd6450 graphics card. at the moment to clock it up i have adjusted the fsb freq but i have left the voltage control at auto whenever i push it to 3.2 or above and run prime95 after a few secs 1 worker stops and says fatal error with a whole lot of numbers or it shuts down as soon as i start prime. i want to run it faster i know i can because at 3.18gh using prime95 and speedfan after about 2 hrs it doesnt go above 45C-50C i have read that the q6600 can safely run at 60-65???? not too sure seems a bit warm to me i am only using air cooling a arctic frezzer 7 pro but i have a zalman cnps9500 but i need to get the 775 mounting kit for it.
Any help would be muvhly appreciated.
