Installing Windows 7 from a USB Flash Drive

Okay, so my computer will up and running Tuesday. I have my Windows 7 Ultimate disk sitting here, but the problem is, my ODD isn't working. I was curious as to how one installs Windows 7 from a flash drive?

Theres a tool to transfer an ISO of windows 7 to any usb, but will format the usb

I've used it before, takes about 10 minutes off my windows 7 installation.

Okay, a little update - for some reason, neither of these methods are working for me. So I was wondering - could I simply put the Windows 7 .ISO file onto the flash drive and install it to an HDD like that?

It won't work like that. Why isn't the USB method not working?

You are setting up the the flash drive as the primary boot device, correct?

I'm not sure. The first method posted didn't even recognize the flash drive. The second method wouldn't recognize my .ISO.

Then if the tool isn't working, you'll have to do it the hard way.

That worked with the beta, not sure more recent builds, give it a try.
