I'm also new to using a multimeter.

How would I measure resistance to the ground? Put the wires on both ends of the resistor and set the multimeter to resistance?

set to ohms for resistance... place 'black' probe to bare metal ground... place 'red' probe on resistors [measure at each side using red probe and record values]
