[FUD] AMD says “enough”

Quote:
AMD claims that users have all the processing power they need and if they want more then let them eat cake.

No such thing, better to have too much power than not enough. I will agree to some extent that most games are console based and are a breeze for a good pc to play but still.

Rofl. Ok AMD, you go ahead and halt your CPU advancements. If our current processing power is "enough," stop advancing and see how far that gets you. lachen.gif

For the sake of all things good, please don't post misleading quotes. If I hadn't read the article I would have ended up bashing AMD too.

"Streaming gaming content in the cloud is possible these days thanks to systems developed by Vidia, Citrix, and LucidLogix."

They just keep lagging farther and farther behind. Sad.

He's talking specifically about laptops. Not about computing as a whole.
He has a point, though. Computing is moving from client-side-only compute tasks to more client-server compute tasks. It's already taken a hold in the mobile arena where things like voice recognition (Siri and other voice commands) are sent off to a server for processing. Now, things like Onlive create games in the "cloud" and then send back a streaming video to the user based on those inputs.

It is slowly happening, and frankly, AMD's Trinity is more than powerful enough to deal with those work loads. In fact, it could be half as powerful, and it would still be more than powerful enough.

+1

even though it's in line with the TOS, you could at least quote the first paragraph. the title and first sentence don't convey the real message in this article. dramatic headline I guess.

OP, the quote sounded off, based on what the article really is. For a second there, i thought AMD was getting pompous and i would have ended up bashing on them a little. Did you even read the whole thing 'coz unless that was an honest mistake, it could be considered downright trolling in a way.
