Best radiator for 1300rpm fans?

Thread Starter
There is a change of my plans, I decided to go for fan controllers for my GT2150s and so I need to optimize my future loop for appropriate radiators.

What would be the best radiator for 1290rpm fans? I'm looking the best heat dissipation, price partially ignored. Radiator size is not an issue (in terms of thickness).
I might be running 1720rpm occasionally, so I would rather be in the high rpm radiator spectrum rather than the low rpm spectrum.

My original plan was to get black ice GTXes, but then I though that 9 2150rpm fans only on radiators would be a bit too loud..

How big are talking? 240,360,480 or what? tongue.gif

That aside, would probably be a 60mm rad with high fin dens.

i couldnt find the AP-00 on scythe website. but found at 2150 rpm they have a 2.87 static
pressure, but i'll bet the pressure will drop drastically (1.75ish) which will a tick short
on thick rads (45-60mm). the fin per inch would be a savior if you can keep it down to the
7-10fpi for a 45-60mm rad. but at 1290, the thinner rads will be fine.

From what I heard the EX series radiator from XSPC are good with low rpm's fan. But I might be wrong.

While the XSPC RX series are a solid choice let's not forget the Hardware Labs (8 FPI) SR1 series radiators.

Are you doing push only, or push/pull?

If you're doing push/pull, I would go with your original plan of GTX radiators. Gentle Typhoons have higher static pressure than other fans turning at the same RPMs, so a 1200 RPM Gentle Typhoon on a dense radiator will be like a 1600 RPM generic fan on a dense radiator.

If push only, I would look at something in the mid-FPI range, maybe the Swiftech XP series.

Anyone have any opinions on the Alphacool UT60? They seem reasonably priced, and according to martinsliquidlab, the radiator is a top competitor in 1000-2200rpm fans - and I'll be running my GTs at 1290-1720rpm so it fits right at the sweet spot, the middle thumb.gif
unless anyone can convince me otherwise. I haven't really been looking into watercooling for the last 6 months, a lot of this stuff is new to me so if there is any huge con to these radiators, I would love to know

ALSO; does anyone know how thick the fitting part of the radiator is? Both sides, it really matters because I need to make sure everything fits in my planned loop

edit: the radiators will be in a "push" only configuration, and what I'm cooling is CPU+GPU (I'll have another 240mm rad to go along)

60mm thick (hence the 60 in UT60), the tank height is 37mm from core to top tank. overall height is 277mm

yes this is wrong.

RX rads = LOW speed fans.
EX rads = HIGH speed fans.

With high speed fans the EX cools better than the RX with low speed fans.
