Will my 1.5GB GTX 580's be enough for a triple 1440p setup?

Thread Starter
I currently own one GTX 580 and got 4 1440p 120hz off brand monitors for free, will the 1.5GB of VRAM be enough (i know that my poor single 580 wont handle all those pixles). so can i just get another two cards or do i need to buy something with more VRAM?

Yikes, thats a lot of resolution. Id say off hand that it wont. Id want something with some more VRAM personally. Might even want a pair of somethings with more VRAM cause 7680x1440 is a boat load of pixels and its gonna take a lot of GPU horsepower to push them.

Sell those 580's and pick up something from the current gen. (I.E 670)

i will be going at least 3 way SLI for sure if i got the 580 route i was just wondering if my current one would have the balls in the VRAM section because at just 1.15V it will do 1050 on the core it is a boss Overclocker.

absolutely not, even the 2gb wil not be enough, you need at least 2.5 to play al the modern games

i have 1200p and on battlefield 3 maxed out my Surround set up eats 2.7gb of ram

I max out my ram 1.28GB and would probably be higher if I had more AA on on just 1 1440p with my 470
post #10 of 15
That's almost double the pixels as a 5760x1080 triple 1080p setup, you'll want at least 3gbvram, id buy 3 or 4 4gb 670s or 680s
