Subnetting HW Question!

Got stuck on this problem on my HW. Can't figure it out please help!

Use the most efficient IP addressing scheme possible. Given Corporate network IP of 202.2.2.0 create your addressing scheme to meet the requirement below:

Corporate Office (Subnet 0): 50 hosts
Subnet 1: 48 hosts
Subnet 2: 30 hosts
Subnet 3: 23 hosts
Subnet 4: 12 hosts
Serial links: 4

For each of the above give the IP subnet address, 1st usable host, last usable host, broadcast, and subnet mask for each (CIDR is fine).

Well first tell your techer that the coperation is using non-internal addresses wink.gif

And all you need to do is go to a linux command line and use the below command and your homework is done smile.gif (ps did the first one for you)

What is stumping you? Do you have a subnet table? It's a tricky bit to learn, but once you get the hang of it it's hard to forget. The teacher actually set up the problem easy for you by sorting the subnets largest to smallest.

Yes, /31s are valid and are the most efficient for point-to-point links. Reference: RFC3021
