Eh, do you know why kits are being created? Exactly because they're cheaper.
And kits don't only include a pump and a res, but also tubing, barbs/fittings and the radiator. Buy all that up separately and you'll almost guaranteedly pay more than just a kit.
Of course, the benefits of the custom loop is that you choose every part yourself. smile.gif

How is your H100 treating you? Is it worth the money? I may reconsider going for that, I already have a watercooling system lol. Might just go easy on my next build

Sorry, guys I should clarify. I was comparing the cost of the higher end kits (such as the XSPC Raystorm kits, or the EK Supreme HFX kits). They a generally more expensive than buying separate parts, depending on what you buy.

For example:

A Raystorm Kit consisting of Raystorm Block, XSPC Res, Alphacool D5 pump, EX360 rad, 3 generic fans, and compression fittings is $260 without shipping. This kit includes everything needed.

I priced up this: MCP35X pump, MCP35X Res, XSPC Raystorm block, Primochill tubing, XSPC compression fittings, EX 360 rad, and YL fans, and it came to around $250. I know it's not much of a saving, but the parts included are much better IMO.

The EK HFX 360 kit is $360!

Also, when spending enough to buy a high end kit, you might as well get the parts you want and go custom, even if it is a little more expensive. But, I do agree, there isn't anything that beats the value of Rasa kits.

That is actually a really good deal. The pump by itself is usually $80-$90, but I agree with mr. biggums. I would rather go with an independent pump and res just because it looks better and it gives you more options to route your tubing in my opinion. I'm actually putting together a custom loop setup myself and it is getting expensive. I've already spent $200 on fittings and I'm still not done buying everything I need. In my opinion, you will feel more rewarded with a custom loop when you are done putting it together. Yes, it is expensive, but this is OCN and we are enthusiast and this is our hobby. Atleast that is how i look at to justify me spending hundreds of $$$ on computer parts.
