New game PC, no overclock. SB or IB

Hello

I have a question for my new build. I am debating either going for the I5 2500K or the I5 3570K, would the SB have lower temps at stock clock then the IB (theres so much hassle about the temps on IB).

At stock clocks you don't have to worry about the temps of either chip. IB may have higher temps but they can take it. I would say go for IB if you can get it at a good price. Although, if you're dead set on no overclock, you could go without the K edition, may save you a bit of cash, especially since, over here at least, the K editions are marked up a bit compared to what they should be! Definitely get a K if you think you would ever overclock in the future though!

If you're looking for better performance get the 3570k, since you're running stock the 7% IPC difference would make sense.

Yea ok, but wouldnt SB I5 2500 give me alot lower temps so I can use less RPM on the fans for a quieter gaming machine?

The temps aren't an issue at stock clocks for either chip. Get IB hands down.

I got the P8Z77-V Deluxe and I5 3570K with Prolima Megashadow from the store, just assembled it on my test setup.

Idle I get around 25° and load just a little under 50°, I guess these are really good temps.

Now for my silent gaming rig, I am debating between the Corsair 550D or the Antec solo 2.

Going to use a Asus GTX670 direct cu.

What do you think what case I should go with? Keep in mind I want to keep the temps low and get low rpm fans.

Don't get the "K" SKU if you are not going to overclock.

With no overclock, IB wins.

For a silent cases, you may also want to consider the Fractal Design Define R3 Mid Tower, or the Antec P280. Just throwing some more options at you.

Of the 2 you listed, I would probably go with the Antec Solo 2, it looks like a cool little case. The budget Corsairs can have pretty mixed results from what I've read/seen, I've never seen a 550D in person though.

Well my friend has the R3 imo the build quality on the 550D is better. And I guess the temps in the 550D will be the same compare to R3.

The antec solo 2 i dont like, the cable management is so bad.

P280 don't know :/
