On my X79 rig, I'm running 8x4Gb of Corsair ram. Its rated @ 1600 C9-9-9-24. I have managed to run all 32GB @ 1866 C10-10-10-27 when I was doing a few benchmarks. So it is possible to o/c with 8 sticks but it does take longer to get it stable and the level of o/c wont be as much as doing it with 4 stick kits.

There are a few 8x8Gb kits around which should improve the amount they can be o/c'ed but does increase the load on the memory controller.

I am running 8x4GB sticks. I think the whole fully loaded IMC argument holds less water than in it did in X58.

4.7ghz with 32GB or 2133mhz, all slot filled. I have to say it was a bit tought to find a stable OC. I found if I ran only 4 slots (16GB) I could get 5.0 easy, but not on 32GB......

Nice stuff! Rampage IV has better RAM architecture? I thought it might be the same - least it is in numbers...

Hmmm sorry I am not an expert - so I am assuming for the asus p9x79 pro it would be best to get faster ram (i.e. 1866 or even 2133 2400) and just OC the CPU or is the 1600 I was going to get better?

Still a bit lost

. Nice to see what people have done with the rampage - any asus p9x79 / pro 64gb users as well? Thanks!

My god guys!

I need more RAM!!! After I saw this!!!

And it works that easy in 5 clicks or so

And I copied a 2GB file from M4 SSD to RAM Disk @ lots of MB/s

Just FF to 2m 05 secs

And look at that speed... 440MB/s from SSD to RAM Disk

EDIT: and they have 1x 16GB modules???
