BF3 performance at 1920x1200 - Page 2

Will there be a difference between setting FXAA in the Nvidia control panel rather than using the in game FXAA. For me when playing a game like BF3 once I'm getting to the low 50's the mouse movement becomes way less fluid and effects my aim. I think quite a lot of reviews come across as misleading when they give you average fps, when looking at the map from distance or in heavy firefights your gonna lose so much fps it becomes horrible.

may I suggest?

I actually found this to look as good or better than the stock AA. It performs way better and is fully customize-able.

takes the "blue" feel out of the game as well.

With 2x MSAA I drop to 50fps at times and with 4x it drops under 50fps. I really like my 1920x1200 monitor as it is IPS, however the extra resolution is costing me settings in games. Would I be better to drop down to a 1080p display or just lower my settings in games like BF3 and Crysis 2?

get one more 580gtx.. i was was running three way sli and was getting 100fps+

it should run with everything else maxed. if you can run it now, with these ^^ settings, you can with the injector

and this is the link to the settings a lot of us use thanks to our friendly moderator, kcuestag. he did a great job with the colors. now if I see bf3 with out it, it just doesn't look right.

I have issues with BF3 as well with my 670, at least with v-sync on. Haven't tried it yet w/o vsync so if you're not using vsync it may not be the same issue. Note my tests are also just the single player of the game.

The card would appear to have PLENTY of power to hold 60fps maxed w/4xMSAA at 1920x1200 in single player (note the GPU usage in the graph in my thread) but ... it doesn't.

I have regretted my 1920x1200 monitor somewhat for a while, it does lower my fps a bit. if i were to get a new screen, id choose 1080p. My 580 handles bf3 all ultra (except shadows, and aa is at a lower setting also) damn well though so id imagine a 680 would be even better.

I did some testing tonight, its now totally playable at 1920x1200 with everything maxed. I had forgotten that I had the smaa injector running so I was running all three and wondering what was happening. Once I didn't have them all on I got better fps.

Here is a fraps benchmark I ran;

Frames: 32366 - Time: 473525ms - Avg: 68.351 - Min: 36 - Max: 119

I know that the 36ms looks bad but its when a chopper or tank kills me and you get the killcam, actually playing and running about it doesn't drop below 50fps which is nice as I dont notice the mouse lag until it goes below 50fps.

Do those fps look about right?

More testing and at certain times im going down into 40fps so will have to pull back a little.
