VIA Technologies today unveiled the $49 APC Android PC system. Powered by a WonderMedia ARM 11 800MHz processor, APC integrates memory, storage, and a full set of consumer I/O features in a small footprint Neo-ITX motherboard that can be connected to a TV or monitor

Very cool that it follows the ATX standard so you can just fit it into existing cases.


Two power plugs (ATX AUX and DC in)? I assume you can use either/both?

Cool but they need to update the processor. I'd be willing to pay $125 for at least a Tegra 2 for gaming and video playback purposes.

I doubt they have a patent on this idea but I can see it taking off very quickly.

Making the system upgradable would be awesome. Interchangeable processors, adding RAM, sound cards...

Maybe someone can come out with a version of Android 4.0 that can work on most drop in upgrades. I know there are ROM's out there that support multiple devices so I think it is possible for a company selling these units to achieve this.

Then again...now we are heading into a different price range which totally defeats the purpose of android and this platform as a whole.
