I've easily done it another 10 or so times since starting this thread. Once you start... tongue.gif

I have killed two good sticks in that period by not leaving them long enough between sessions, but that's the name of the game.

I've been toying with the idea of doing that myself as of late with DICE instead of LN2 used. I'll probrably sweat some copper pieces together in my workshop and make the "Pot" assembly for my sticks that way.

No rush though and will probrably take awhile to do it but it will get done..... One day. redface.gif

Yes I agree,once you start freezing ram you will enjoy it .I too have done this quite a few times now,thanks too jjjc insulation guide. I have had no problems,at some stage if you have been benching your ram on ln2 for 1 hour or more and it does become unstable or code error just shut it down let it dry out,a day and then good to go again.Ive tried two ways of having a fan on ram,one with it pushing air and other with pulling,both work well

do you do any type of prep on your DIMMs? i have one kit of psc that i took the time to cover in LET with a fine brush but it took a long time and was very tedious to get around all the ICs..
i dont see many people prepping their DIMMs, except perhaps a shmear of vaseline on the gold fingers before popping them into the DIMM slot..

Nope, I'm one of those guys that just gives a little vas around the sink and over the gold contacts. From my perspective it's far more dangerous to go ripping off heatsinks to prep the PCB than it is going cold with minimal prep. I just always leave the sticks at least a day to dry before using them again, otherwise they do die.

How cold are you going usually? You've gotta stay completely frozen the whole time I would imagine... No hovering around subzero or else frost turns to condensation turns to trouble. Some ICs like Samsung don't really scale past -30c or so, which is relatively close to zero.. Guess you just have to be careful not to get too close until you're ready to call it a day

Usually past -100c, -120c or so is about where my Crucial PSC sticks seem to like it. I don't get big swings though, so as long as you're paying attention you should easily be able to keep a kit around the -30c mark, condensation wouldn't be an issue until you're coming back up to -5c and warmer really. You wouldn't want to be swinging back up to those temps for stability and big voltages anyway.
