Please help! Need a jpg made into DXF, DWG or sketchup. How??????

For a casemod I need the following two pictures made into one a DXF, DWG or sketchup file.
How do I do this and / or can someone help me with this?

http://cdn.inthegame.nl/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/diablo-3.jpg

http://www.gamerreaction.tv/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Diablo_3_wallpaper_04_by_Diesp.jpg

I just need the Diablo II with the figure above or under it.

I am building a case for someone that really deserves it and I want to let this be laserengraved on a piece of plexiglass as a surprise for him. Going to get it lit up with red LED fans in the case.

Can anyone give me tips or maybe even help me?

There's no good way to get that type of image (soft edges, gradients, etc.) straight to one of those files. The engraver might be able to do it with the image but if you want it in one of those formats your best way will be to get the image(s) into a program and trace them.

to convert this file, maximium color is 16 color. but for clarity and solid edge definition 2-color is best.
to be honest, if this is a clear plex job, a light box and a dremel would be better. the gradients and blends
can be shallow cuts and the darker pitches be heavier degause.
if its an opaque plex, that'll be a toughie.. youd almost have to line graph the piece from that.
having the CNC laser cut is usually a 2-d job. looking at those images, you'd have to break it up into a CMYK
print, index the color and make four files with the darker first, and the lightest last.
good luck with this one.. i have had 8 fails on conversions of your files.

Hi Guys

As a first comment, I've intended to register on this forum for month. But because I've seen this topic and it turns out that I can really help OP I quickly registered and jumped into this thread, which mean that I didn't introduce myself first. I hope you guys will forget this lack of etiquette, but I'm in a terrible rush and therefore must jump straight into this thread.

OK, OP, here are several options:

Basically what you need is to convert your drawing into a Vectorial format. Whatever the file format, once it's done you can easily convert a format to another.

What you need to know first is how you want to render the drawing, your pictures are not drawns with clean lines, but with shadows, etc...(shades).

Considering that it is laser engraved on plexiglass, I would follow the following steps:

- Open your pics in PS and tweak it until you got a black and white drawing. There are plenty of filters to achieve this result but I would suggest to turn the original pic in B/W, play with contrast/brightness until pic appear how you want to, then apply filter to convert shades to lines density.

-Save pic in any format (jpg, png, etc...)

-Download Inkscape (it's free)

-Check quickly how to use it and convert your pic in vector format (Inkscape offer plenty of them)

Jobs done.

I'll see what I can quickly do because to be honest, this kind of job takes me something like 10mn but I'm not home.

Cheers

If you would then you'd make me a very happy person!

I just want the strongest lines of the "Diablo" word, the three "III" and the figure under or above it. The rest doesn't matter to me.

Ok, I did a super quick one.

Here's the preview in PNG. The DXF file is roughly 2.5M, PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you if you're OK with it.

OK Hukkel, I did another one this morning while drinking my first coffee, according to yours comments.

If it fits your taste better I'll e-mail you the DXF file.

I'm sorry, but I really can't spend more than 15mn on this stuff (the previous one was done in less than 5mn). There's defenitively a way to crack a mindblowing vector drawing of your pics, but then it takes something like 1 to 3H of work and I really can't afford it. If you guys are interested in the various ways and options to do this kind of things let me know and I might take the time to post a tutorial (the PS+Inkscape is only one of numerous options, it can be done it halftones, etc...)

Cheers
