Cover case fan holes

Thread Starter
Not much of a case modder myself, so I'm looking for ideas on how to cover some case fan holes. More specifically the 120mm side case fan found on the Fractal Design Arc Mini.

I kinda like how the Define Mini comes with covers for un-used fan holes and am curious how I could so something like that for the Arc Mini.

find a piece of metal. cut to size, make sure to include tabs that can attach it to the side panel. then paint your chunk of metal.
if it stands out to much then you might need a more permanent solution.

easier enough is to use plastic. cut it to the same size of a fan or the hole, use
the fan screws to secure it to the side panel. the plasic can be from anything. paint
it to suit taste and mount.
heck even a cardboard box cut down can be used and then swap out for a metal or plastic
solution. new egg sells sound deadner from silver stone $20.00 to do both panels the roof
and sections in the floor. locate the define mod-u-vent panel and use that.

If you can find any, use some foam that's the same colour as your case. I have some of those for my case (Antec 900, came with it) that covers up the front unused 5.25" bays. It looks mighty fine, if you ask me. Just my two cents.

I searched the other day for awhile to find pre-made case fan slot covers to no avail. Your best bet is the fabricate something yourself or use sound dampening pads below a fan grill.

Or if you're not too worried about aesthetics you could always tape them up. tongue.gif
