I'd stay away from AsRock.
PSU @ 650w is not sufficient to power a 135w tdp cpu (b4 oc'd) and a high-end graphics card.
If you oc at all..it will reboot.

so drop maybe $100 difference in monitors and add $350 to the cost of the CPU? How is that in budget? I personally prefer ASUS mobos but I've used AsRock boards with no problems.

doh.gif and he picked an xfx mad.gif
if you don't plan on ever ocing your videocard..or maybe just a ho-hum overclock..xfx is OK
they're sturdy..they have good vrm cooling..but they lock out the overclocking
no voltage control..so what you get with stock volts is what you get..period..
well...unless you're on the volt mod squad, i guess

I have an XFX 6950 and while I could only overclock a certain amount in CCC I changed the config file in MSI Afterburner and was able to push it a lot more and voltage as well.

And 3820 adds almost nothing to gaming performance, and is harder to OC.

It'll work for you :thumb.gif: Might not be getting 2400Mhz RAM speed out of $100 worth of RAM though
Now..I'm not a rumor spreader ..but I have this theory that this time around Intel made all the lower-binned silicon the 3570Ks..cause the 3770Ks are clocking much higher.IF you overclock..

Possibly, but the 3570K still OC's pretty decent. My buddy Johnathan built a 3570K rig with an H100 and the Asus software OC'd it to 4.6GHz with no issues.

BTW I'd go 670 over the 7970. The 670 only performs 4-6% less than the 680.
