Took my E6300 to 3Ghz with stock voltages ... what should i tweek now ?

I've tweeked my E6300 to 3.01Ghz by raising FSB alone.
One thing i noticed from 2.8 -> 3.0 was my Super PI 1M score went UP by 0.2

So where should i start now to get upto 3.2?
Do my components need more juice? going from 3.0 to 3.2 in easy tuner causes lock ups.

You probably need more vcore to reach higher speeds. That's a nice overclock on stock volts. Are you sure your vcore setting isn't on auto in BIOS?

Yeah thats at stock Vcore... whats odd is if i undervolt it by -0.4
and clock it to 3.1
Its half a second faster...
my Super Pi 1M drops from 19.0x to 18.5x

But i have problems maintaining stability at those settings.

How could less vcore= more power?
Expecialy when its already at the limit of what you expect from stock voltage?

After a certain point, there may be some voltage 'crosstalk' between the traces on the CPU core. That can cause instabilities, and due to interference (electrical noise within the core itself) slow processing down.

Just out of intrest: how much leway do i have with playing with voltages before i risk damage?

At the moment I have experimented with 1.28 -> 1.35 and stability seems to be getting worse the more i play.

though these voltages are under the recormeded maximum...

I thought i had really pi**ed on my chips this morning when it would not even load windows stabily at 2800Mhz... though booting into safe mode and removing EasyTuner5 solved that (even though i didnt save any easy tuner config) ...<phew>

I had 3.0 stable as a rock last night then experimenting past that caused me to take it down to 2.8 and start the process of slowly raising it again to probe for stability.

Just use the bios to make changes. The overclocking software sometimes cause instability.

I had 3.01GHz (430FSB) by setting VCore @ 1.2875.

In order to take it higher, you have to bump up G(MCH) just a fraction (+0.1), and set VCore to minimum 1.325... at least that's what I needed.

Also, it looks like my overclock stability increased by updating to the latest BIOS.
