apparently people with an authenticator are getting hacked too. this session ID hack is something that occurs after the authentication, for the user being hacked, has already occurred.

You can try contacting Blizzard and they will reset your account back 2 days prior but it could probably happen again.

I sent them a support ticket. When it happened and i explained in detail what happened at what time.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I have been hacked too. Didn't log in all day sunday and when I came back yesterday everything was gone. Sent ticket which Blizzard responded to but when I said yes for a character reset nothing happened. So far its been 31 hrs already.

I didn't have the authenticator though but from what I read that didn't help much either. Whether those posts are real or fake I do not know. All i know is that I was hit by this hacking spree and I sure as hell did not get phished or keylogged.
Yup...

We've been taking the situation extremely seriously from the start, and have done everything possible to verify how and in what circumstances these compromises are occurring. Despite the claims and theories being made, we have yet to find any situations in which a person's account was not compromised through traditional means of someone else logging into their account through the use of their password. While the authenticator isn't a 100% guarantee of account security, we have yet to investigate a compromise report in which an authenticator was attached beforehand.

I love it. Use a quote from the company that is currently handling a very hot potato and has no choice but to deny everything possible right out of the gate. Use this, and you have full authority to call people charlatans, liars and frauds. Even though, you know, it's not their multi-million dollar investment with the opportunity to pay off in the billions.... rolleyes.gif

Blizzard makes incredible games but they are literally the worst at security.

Has any of their games not been hacked tremendously?

My educated guess: Blizzard is to the online PC gaming market what Microsoft is to the OS market. The most heavily saturated and therefore the prime target for hackers. I have a feeling Blizzard spends far more time on security than any other game company.

Because the black market of gold/char reselling is a multi billion dollar a year business?

Has any game with a connection to the internet NOT been hacked? I see hacked characters all the time on even my damn Android games.

Blizzard offers security in the form of authenticators. People may be upset they have to spend money to insure their gaming experience but its a necessary evil because there is always a small sect of people or enterprise that will pray on others when you see the kinds of money involved in the resell markets of these MMO and other online games.
