The 7770 is a decent upgrade over a 6770. The 6770 performance is identical to the 5770 where the 7770's trades blows with a 6850.
With any upgrade to his chip, he is going to need a better GPU, I had a 5770 in the past and it was absolute trash, I wish I went with the 6850 from the start, I ended up selling it and upgrading to a GTX 570.
Also you barely need 4 cores for gaming, you will never need 6 with today's architecture.

True, but i dont think 6770-6850 is worth the upgrade. Buying new, yes 7770 or 6850 but as an upgrade, i dont think its enough. I just think that the pentium would be a waist of money cause youd upgrade again very soon.
