Thermalpaste Question on Zalman VF900

Finally got my hands on a Zalman VF-900 heatsink today. Going to install it on a evga 7900GT and possibly vmod it.
I was wondering if I should apply AS5 Thermal paste on the ramsinks. I know I gotta use it on the VGA, but I am not sure as to whether or not the ramsinks will stick to the card with AS5.

No, the ramsinks will not stick to the card with AS5. Just use the sticky thermal pads that are on the ramsinks.

Looks good, but would it be removable?. Those 2 tubes for the stuff remind me of epoxy glue. I might be selling the card when the nvidia 8 series cards come out and would prefer being able to reverse the install and put the stock heatsink back on.

Thats exactly what it is. Its a thermal epoxy. Once applied, you will not be able to remove it. Just use the thermal tape that is on the back of the little ram sinks, it will work good enough for ram cooling.

Ya I figured as much. Got the heatsink installed. Managed to get the card to 580/1750 using the Nvidia control panel. Thought I would be able to take the core above 600 without artifacts. Max I can get is 580 without. Some help on this?

I managed only 550/1700 with the stock heatsink. Temps soared above 85c sometimes during long play. Now on 580/1750, the card doesnt seem to top 48c.

Great heatsink this Zalman VF-900. Too bad it doesnt have a LED fan yet.
