120mm SILENT Case Fans

Thread Starter
The sound of my Sickleflows are deathbringing. I'd like to hear from you guys: what's the best silent case fan? It has to push a reasonable amount of air. Must be 120mm. Also must use 3-pin.

What's your budget? You could look into some Gentle Typhoons or Noiseblockers if you can afford them...

Hmm well that rules out most of the premium fans. Although, you could opt for this: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_49_1043&products_id=24745. But 500rpm and 31cfm doesn't seem worth it too me.

The threshold for fan loudness varies from person to person, so it can be a bit difficult to recommend fans sometimes. But in your budget, I'd recommend this Cougar fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553001. It comes in black if you're not a fan of orange.

Wow $30 per fan is pretty spendy. I'd take a look at these: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=36_49_1050&sort=20a&main_page=index&filter_id=128. They are the best overall for quietness and performance. Pretty hard to beat imo...

Well the Gentle Typhoons perform better, but the Noiseblockers are a bit quieter. So yes you are correct the GT's are a better deal (at least for your needs). smile.gif

Noctua P12: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_49_1044&products_id=23306

I used one of these on a Xiggy Dark Knight and it was completely silent, even with the backpressure of the fins.
