Well, glad the OP has finally decided on what to get. Or atleast has a good idea in mind.
People do need to read the entire thread though, not just start at the latest post and assume..

I am not sure what this is in you'r $ but the best prices for CPUs and combos I have found is Microcenter It is $189.00 USD they always have the best prices for the CPUs and if they have the MOB you want they have the best combos I have found as well:thumb:

Also for the Americans here €300 is roughly ~$375 (Or £240 for UK)

I vote for 2500K and mid-range z68 board..or maybe Biostar tz77..hrmm..XE?
With a decent board you can probably clock a 2500K higher (than a 3570K)and get more performance out of it.

I showed you your own link and the numbers are there.. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/287?vs=551 Facts are the facts..
There is no waste for getting a Faster cpu for 20$ = 30$ more he would have to be stupid to get a 2500k for 30$ less then a 3570k...
here it is again look all the way down the page it is faster in 99% of everything.. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/287?vs=551
And gets the latest tech and is ready for everything coming in the future.
How do you justify not paying 30 more dollars for it.. i do not see how anyone can...

Nice link to a review that does not even show the 2500k vs 3570k rolleyes.gif But as you posted these reviews did you notice the advantage in speed the 3770k has over the 2600k??

And op, 2500k is already overkill for "games" Save the rest of the cash and use towards a better motherboard or gpu.

Im getting the 2500k for 170$ and decent z68 board for 170$, for gaming. I'd recommend a 2500k and a z68 board, to save money.
