Windows 8

It's looking like to use Windows 8 fluidly, we'll need a Windows key. So, my 6GV2 board doesn't have that function on the Left side, guess I'm out of luck.

Along with the Windows key functions I've never used, here are the new ones:

New hotkeys for the Windows 8 Consumer Preview
Key combination Windows 8 functionality
Windows-Space Switch input language and keyboard layout.
Windows-O Lock device orientation.
Windows-, Temporarily peek at the desktop.
Windows-V Cycle through toasts.
Windows-Shift-V Cycle through toasts in reverse order.
Windows-Enter Launch Narrator.
Windows-PgUp Move the Start Screen or a Metro-style application to the monitor on the left.
Windows-PgDown Move the Start Screen or a Metro-style application to the monitor on the right.
Windows-Shift-. Move the gutter to the left (snap an application).
Windows-. Move the gutter to the right (snap an application).
Windows-C Open the Charms bar.
Windows-I Open the Settings charm.
Windows-K Open the Connect charm.
Windows-H Open the Share charm.
Windows-Q Open the Search pane.
Windows-W Open the Settings Search app.
Windows-F Open the File Search app.
Windows-Tab Cycle through apps.
Windows-Shift-Tab Cycle through apps in reverse order.
Windows-Ctrl-Tab Cycle through apps and snap them as they cycle.
Windows-Z Open the App Bar.
Windows-/ Initiate input method editor (IME) reconversion.
Windows-J Swap foreground between the snapped and filled apps.

(snagged this list from http://www.pcworld.com/article/251022/windows_8_consumer_preview_keyboard_shortcuts.html)

Having such a sparse UI, things like Windows-Z, I'm guessing that's how you get your "start" menu quickly?

ive been testin out W8 and im not that impressed the parts it has from windows 7 are the only good parts imho.
it seems like its more built for touch screens, it reminds me alot of a smart phone.
there are a feww small things like different icons when on wireless networks and instead of the bar when copying or moving files it has the graph thing. although these few things are barely useful?

I felt like this guy when I tried the preview:

I was hoping keyboard shortcuts could help, but then realized I can't use them properly :-(

Map Caps Lock to Win Key. Bam.

(Map Caps to something else if necessary, eventually you'll find a button you don't use smile.gif )
