How do you have so little damage?! I am impressed you could even make it to level 36 with those stats...

You need to gear that character with Int and vitality and anything + damage... I'm level 39 and have around 1250 damage... not sure how good mine actually is, but it is a hell of a lot further ahead then you currently are!

There is only ONE way your dps can be that low. Your main weapon is extremely weak, or missing.

All abilities are bassed off a percent of your weapon damage. Meaning the ideal weapon is one with the mains DPS and int you can find. I would go for a 2 handers with a socket and + damage mod on it and socket it with a ruby. Two handers are slower, but you hit harder and burn through less of your arcane power.

If your build is based on quicker attacks, then get a good 1 hander (can ever be an axe / sword), then get a wizard off hand with + arcane power on crit etc.

This alone will drastically increase your dps.

Next at your level, try and find a decent + 3-6 damage (or higher) ring / ammy with +int on it. This will be the next best DPS booster.

Finally try and find rare armor (golds) on the AH with + int and +vit on them. I wouldn't spend more than 2k per item, the rings and ammies may run you up to 15-25k, if you can't afford them, go for something with just high int.

We (buddy and me) just started nightmare with our lvl 32 (???) chars.

He's a Monk, I'm a Sorce.

We TRAIN our blacksmith and craft some good items (sometimes we need to craft 2 or 3 times befor it's a decent one... Sometimes we craft 7 same items and still nothing good...)

The rest is stuff we picked up...

We're at the stage we can't TRAIN our blacksmith anymore by using money... We now need some scripts and give it to him (or something)

also be sure to set your skills AND runes for those skills correct (eg max damage per weapon or so...)

General tip: Don't waste money on training Blacksmith/Jeweler. The stuff they make are sub par and can easily be outclassed by AH gear. Upgrade them later on in life when you have the time and money. (Blizz needs to fix a lot of gear/crafting stuff too...)

Just wanted to point out that INT increases your damage by a percentage. If you have 200 int that mean it will increase your spell damage by 2 times. A spell doing 10, will be doing 20. If you stack INT without increasing your weapon damage, you'll be getting nowhere.

Ya I was surprised how much the dmg rings actually increase your dps. I use whatever the compare thing says I get more dps out of. I go for as much int as I can from rare (yellow) gear bought from the auction house. I never spend more than 5k on a piece.

You will get the pages for blacksmithing and jewelcrafting in nightmare mode. And they drop a lot! I have found the auction house to be more efficient at getting gear cheaply than crafting it. Of course in game I'm sure crafting will be nice to have.

I'm a level 23 wizard and my DPS is about 140. Clear every part of a map, the entire left side on my guy is armed with rare objects. Go to the auction house, find a sword that does at least 25+ dps, buy the cheapest one (I paid about 30,000 for mine at level 20) and go nuts. I haven't found a decent wand that does more than 37 DPS so I'm still using a sword, I find them to deal the most damage.

Clean the map, you'll find TONS of rare and good weapons.
