GTX 690 internal sli NOT recognized

Thread Starter
Hoping you guys can help me out.

It seems that my pc will not recongize the internal SLI of the 690.

When all 3 dvi ports have a display attached only 2 and 3 will output.

When only 1 display is attached to dvi 1 port it operates fine.

Device manager and precisionx only sees 1 GTX 690 (regardless of which ports actually have signal).

Opening up nvidia control panel and going to 3d settings / configure surround, physx has the "span displays" greyed out.

EVGA has sent me another board and the symptoms are exactly the same.

Evga wants me to reinstall the OS...

I have switched pci e ports and it made no difference.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

My next move is to send them both back and get a refund.

As it only shows 1 GPU I say RMA it, but i would do a fresh OS install just in case.

What does GPU-Z say about the SLI status? Is there one or two cards in the dropdown?

What does NVCP say about SLI status? Is the option there to turn it on or no?

Are your benchmark scores like 3dMark11 that of a single 680 or 680 SLI (10K on one GPU, 15K on SLI)?

Are you certain that all three DVI ports are supposed to work as opposed to needing to use DP or HDMI for the 3rd monitor of a surround setup?

What does NVCP say about SLI status?

not available

Is the option there to turn it on or no?

no

Are your benchmark scores like 3dMark11 that of a single 680 or 680 SLI (10K on one GPU, 15K on SLI)?

Have not ran it, but since there is only one gpu being detected, I would assume 10k ish

Are you certain that all three DVI ports are supposed to work as opposed to needing to use DP or HDMI for the 3rd monitor of a surround setup?

yes, per EVGA support

You can use any combo of connections. If it only shows one GPU even after a reinstall of drivers and/or windows then we would probably have to RMA it. I can set it up if you would like, Matth@evga.com

Well, I RMA'd one already for the same issue. I just got an email about an hour ago stating that "The RMA has been received and we have approved the refund".

I would really love to get this card to work.

I am having this problem as well. I have a 1KW quattro PSU, ASUS Sabretooth P67 mobo and tried all the latest drivers etc with no luck. I reinstalled windows and the problem is still happening. It even happened in game - second monitor turned off and the main one went black, came back on and then had lower FPS

Tis a shame the card is so pretty frown.gif
