Although they really shouldn't be using terms like future proofing when they're talking about an entry level card, what are they supposed to say? This crap is why one must know and not be a chump. tongue.gif

Somewhat off topic, but last time I bought something from TigerDirect, they changed the price of the item BETWEEN the time I hit Checkout/Finalize Order and actually charging my credit card with NO NOTIFICATION! I couldn't even cancel my order online and when I called CS, they acted like it was normal and that I wasn't quoted one price and charged another. I know for a fact that Amazon and I believe Newegg will notify you of any price changes in your cart before purchase.

Anyways, I won't be buying from these borderline-scammers anytime soon. They run a shady business and I'm generally unsatisfied with their service.

Now, for me, its NCIX -> NewEgg -> Google it and, if I absolutely have to -> Canada Computers.
Really? They charged me $8 for shipping when I bought my antec 620, and it arrived 22 hours later. They also gave me the option of picking it up at a store, but since I was lazy I paid the $8. If you are using any of the private shipping companies, it's going to cost you a lot if you have to ship it very far; I wanted to have a 2 pound package shipped from the US during the postal strike, and they told me it would be over $100.

It's strange how often they change their prices. I wanted to buy a GTX 480, and they had it as $240 for a while, then suddenly $210, and then one day it was $290. Other stores vary their prices, but not by $80 all of a sudden. I bought it from Newegg after that.

Did you ever get that issue with Tiger Direct straightened out? That just happeneed to me yesterday, the 13th. $20 extra on a 120GB SSD. The item description said it was on sale until 14th. Did the Checkout at about 6:15 in the morning, showed up as the price I was expecting. After finishing I got the confirmation and it was $20 more then expected. I callled them and have a Ticket number. Waiting for a response from them. Today the item is $10 off what I paid. YoYo pricing. Not to happy with PayPal over this either. They never showed me the value that was going to be charged, like they left it open to Tiger Direct.

I don't know if you already took care of it but for me they tried to offer the difference in store credit which I obviously refused. After a bit of insisting they returned the difference to my credit card after a bit over a week. I think that's still a little ridiculous but at least I got my money back eventually.

Glad you got your money; sucks they made you inisit for it.
On the 17th (Sept 2012) 4 days after I called they did refund $10, half the $20 amount I was claiming. The item did go back on sale on the 14th for $10 less then I paid on the 13th, so it wasn't that big a stretch for them to refund $10. I guess that extra $10 to make $20 was too big a stretch though. I may pursue it yet if PayPal has any records to support my claim. I didn't ask for a compromise.
