5850 potentially dead, urgently in need of help!

hey guys

so i got diablo 3 today, tried to run it along side WoW. computer crashed after a few mins, i get vertical colours stripes on a blank screen.

Restarted, same issue but this time just with either 1 of the games and only up to the log in screen, then crash.

I have uninstalled, driver swept and reinstalled the past 4-5 driver revisions back to ones i knew worked for other games.

Its been fine everyday playing WoW up to today and now i cant do anything but basic windows usage.

Any ideas what can be the cause of this? I have also reseated the card and cleaned it out with no luck.

Its just odd it all worked fine for a year and a half until today when i tried to run 2 games and now i cant get anything out of it on any drivers.


Thanks for any tips as id rather save myself hundreds on a new graphics card when i dont fully believe this card could be that dead...

It's possible the powersupply is crapping out on you, try the card in another computer if you can. Probably easier than switching power supplies.

What do you have for a PSU? I see you OC'ed your card, have you tried using the default settings? what are your temps like? as ForNever said I would try it in a different rig.

card isnt OC'd anymore took that off a year ago.

Power supply is a 850watt corsair at the moment thats never given me issues.

will try card in another pc at weekend if i havent solved it by then.

Took card apart and no visible damage, added new thermal paste

Ive spent forever rolling back drivers, ive taken card to pieces and cleaned and put back together, im not sure what else i can do since its crashes only on game menus as soon as i load them
