Yes the Ultrabook is more expensive but its more expensive for a reason.
I got a Toshiba Z830, i can play all my main stream games, like BF3, COD, Guild Wars 2 (BWE), etc just fine on Intel HD 3000. And when i want to play High Graphics games i use my Desktop.
But the reason i buy a Ultrabook is because its very mobile, so i get 8 hours batter. i bet a thin laptop with a high end GPU u r looking for will not have 8 hours batter.
When buying something for its portability you have to sacrifice a little performance, the point of being ultra portable is so you can go about your day without running out of battery.

if you wanted a laptop for high end gaming then i wouldn't recommend an Ultrabook nor a AMDs Ultrathin book.
The AMD A10 might have better GPU performance than an Intels Ultrabook i5 but it wont perform better in terms of speed...

I have seen the new Pentiums like the B960 out perform a AMD A8 CPU.
And I have heard there will be Ultrathin laptops with Pentiums.

So if you want a high performances ultra portable laptop the Intel Ultrabook is the right choice.
But if you want a thin laptop that performs like a A8 or A10 then with for Pentium to go Ultra Thin or the cheaper i3 in Ultrabooks

I am sure it can play those games lol...

You have seen graphs, those mean nothing in real world performance. Or my core2 duo laptop wouldn't be in my closet, while I take my Zacate laptop everywhere.

You must be crazy to want a pentium over an A8.

Intel HD 4000 can't play D3 on medium. Can you say dealbreaker? I sure can, considering D3 is the best-selling PC game ever. 44 FPS on medium for A10-4600M, compared to 27FPS for HD 4000. The A10-4655M might be a little slower, but take 20% off 44 FPS and you're still left with 36 FPS (playable) compared to 27 FPS (slideshow). http://www.notebookcheck.net/Diablo-III-Benchmarked.74918.0.html

And also, only i3/i5/i7 will have HD 4000. Pentium and Celeron mobile will have HD 2500, which is *maybe* as fast as HD 3000 (ie 40% slower, give or take). So the question really is, get mediocre multi-threaded with a 1.8ghz i3 ULV, and 10% slower graphics (HD 4000 is clocked 100mhz lower in i3's)... or A10-4655M, slightly slower single, and most likely much faster multi-threaded. Personally I never see my i3-2310M (2.1ghz dual-core) top out on 1 core for ANY amount of time (fractions of a second spike, not even touching 100%, occasionally). Very rarely do I see 2 cores top out. But I have several programs that can hammer all 4 threads at 100% for several seconds to several minutes.

Question always comes down to what your usage is, of course. I'd opt for an AMD "slimbook" any day of the week simply because CPU power is not that relevant for what I'd typically do - write some stuff, browse the web and, of course, play for a bit, for which a 6520G would give me far superior performance to an HD2500 or moderately superior performance compared to an HD4000.

Ah, we've got them quite marked up where I work... 8GB modules don't sell very quickly. It's likely that the last time we stocked them, they were much more expensive.

Judging from the off-angle pictures there appears to be a lot of contrast shifting indicating a crappy TN is being used. I'm fine with the resolution if they offered one of their PLS panels (similar to IPS) for wider viewing angels. Although it would be kind of a dissappointing upgrade from my 6 year old 14" T60 with a 1024x768 resolution. I understand the pixel density will be about 50% higher but I care more about the actual workspace available.

The main thing holding me back from buying a Trinity laptop is the lackluster feature set which comes from it being marketed as a budget minded alternative to IB. It's hard to expect premium features as the manufacturers try to maximize the price delta between Trinity and IB.

When is this coming out?

So far, the current crop of Trinity notebooks is very disappointing from a design standpoint.
